:geaux: Agree. LSU doesn't need to deal with the extra crap that accompanies "mentors". Next. :LSU231:
If losing Reed were really an issue we wouldn't lose him. The fact is if he was good enough that we would really miss him, our coaches would think he had a chance to play his freshman year. Just like Bowe, Davis, Doucet, Toliver, Randle...
:insane: Yea and LSU thought Janzen Jackson and Mcknight weren't going to turn out to be studs, so they eased up on them...:rolleye33:
I will give you McKnight but Jackson screwed LSU....plain and simple, I don't blame anyone on the staff for that one.
When did we ease up on Mcknight? And JJ told the coaches he was solid all the way right up to signing day.
:geaux: You read my mind! The DAY AFTER NSD! Oh yeah I forgot, his Mom had flight trubs.:cuss: :LSU231:
I don't know that I have a problem with Reed having a "mentor". Maybe his mom was his mentor when she was alive, and he truly needs another mature adult figure in his life to help him make sound, well thought out decisions??
The word mentor, in this instance, almost screams "handler". If the mentor is really an adult friend, I'm all for it. If the mentor is a guy Reed doesn't know but is trusting to guide him to the best school, then I feel sorry for him.
I agree with you...and as soon as someone posts something credible indicating that's what it is...I'll be right there with you. Until then, knowing the situation, I'll assume the best.
