I don't even think he played against LSU. I know earlier they were talking about him looking good and possibly helping the team, but I haven't seen him do anything.

I looked up their receiving stats so far this year, his name is not listed anywhere.

I think alot of these kids don't comprehend the speed and the athleticism of the SEC. Very few HS athletes come in and make an impact. Unless their last names are Jones and Green or maybe that Crabtree guy.

It is all about playing time at this point for Reed. He has received promises from AU about contributing immediately and he has tried to get the same from LSU but we are not going to lie to him. All we can promise is that he will have an opportunity to compete with the other WRs coming in for a shot at playing time. The staff is well aware of his worries and the reason we have not backed off Fobbs or Wright at all as well as increasing their interest in them over the last few months and even showing interest in other WRs across the country. The LSU staff is really high on Mike Davis and a know one coach on the LSU staff has Wright as the top WR in the state followed by Fobbs and then Reed.

For these reasons, I see Reed committing to AU soon. However, he plans on taking his visits to Tenn, LSU, and Florida as well so it won't be over until NSD.

Its been known for awhile now. At least from people in the area. Its not really surprising...it may have been just rumors but when the entire area's vibe is the same thing...usually turns out to be true. Happened with Janzen Jackson last year. People were saying it was Alabama then Tennessee long before he committed to them. Randle had the area thinking Alabama until LSU made a big impression a month before NSD, so who knows if he ever was a Bama lean.

I don't know what this kid is thinking. Auburn is on the heavy decline. They have no QB and their recruiting has been bad the past few years. They're in a much worse situation than LSU for the future. PT shouldn't be that important...he has to stay 3 years to make it to the NFL anyway. He could have one great season and be a 1st round pick in the NFL. Hes underestimating the SEC way too much, IMO.

Better question is, will this affect Lache's decision? It can't be good for LSU if Reed is going to Auburn. Maybe the USC rumors on Lache are true. I hope Reed has a great career but its really unsettling if we lose one in our backyard like this. We have some good WRs on board this year already and next year is another great class. People think Landry is a lock but I'd have to say no from his recent interview.

I know LSU is recruiting great but I don't like the recent trend going around that we keep losing big recruits in our own backyard.

    Janzen Jackson
    Mcknight
    Anthony Johnson(as of now)
    Sentimore
    Bell
    Reed(probably)

At what point is this going to start hurting us? I've seen Jackson play and hes going to be a superstar. PT shouldn't be that big of a concern for Reed...we're really thin at WR next year. He could compete for the third spot if TT doesn't leave. I just feel hes making a huge mistake going to that pit at Auburn...they will not be on the rise anytime soon...

Landry's most recent interview was very positive. I wouldn't worry about him too much, he will be a Tiger and I wouldn't be surprised if he committed early considering he was recruiting for LSU over the summer.

As most can see even with the guys we have been late to offer because of grade concerns or losing out on, LSU is making up for it and then some out of state. This class will be in the top 8 in the nation and next will most likely be the #1 class in the nation. It is getting better and better for LSU recruiting wise.

I'm not sure how much he's played on the season, but he did get in the game against LSU when Auburn went on that late scoring drive. He was targeted in the endzone, but the ball was knocked away. He's not a starter though.

Benton was thrown to 3 times resulting in no catches. Drops and miscues have been the problem all year and he has very few catches this year. Not sure on the exact number but I want to say 1-3 completions.

Reed ought to go wherever he wants to go...it's his life. Just be honest with all the coaches. I don't really mind if we lose Reed...WR is a position of strength.Just don't pull a last minute switch. Or engage in lies and fraud like the Janzen Jackson family did.

Good luck to Trovon wherever he goes...as long as he goes with class (I'm sure he will :thumb:)
