Fobbs and Wright will probably have the heat turned up on them I would say. Right now it looks like we will keep Hunter who I think will be a star here.

You know, "Decommit" is really a strange word.

I didnt say they were sure things I just said they were going to be in state..two of the top WRs in the nation next year. IMO about Reed if Davis would've never commited to LSU and we would've been sitting with just Hunter Reed would be committed to LSU but there is still a chance Reed ends up at LSU. Also I dont really know too many people that are heads over heels in love w/Reed in the first place after seeing other WRs and Jarvis Landry. My question is if Reed was out of state would the few ppl even really care its more people dont want to see the Top WR in the state leave.

I don't mind if someone changes their mind at all. Davis is doing it early so there's plenty of time to find a replacement. Good luck to him. No hard feelings here.

Almost every kid applies to more than one college and if they're good they get accepted by more than one. Myself, I turned down Tulane, and a couple of others...including Oglethorpe University...the fighting stormy Petrels !!!

Storm Petrel is a dinky little shorebird that runs away from the water as it rolls in on the beach. (Go figure .)

I never did apply there but Yale was after me hard because of my SAT scores were good enough but mostly because they had a fairly influential alumnus that had the exact same name as me and they were convinced I was his son! I should have gone there, just so that I could claim to be the only Yale alumnus that says "Would you like fries with that?" on a daily basis !! :hihi:.

Tulane, Oglethorpe, and Yale were just fine without me...and LSU will be just fine without Mike Davis.:).

:geaux: Is it too late for LSU to get in on Eric Thomas from Evangel? He had a heck of game against J. Curtis and a pretty strong season overall from what I've heard. Offers from Texas Tech and Okla. St.

LSU still can't seem to get a foot in the door with the Evangel kids. Looks like a situation similar to the one at John Curtis. Do the coaches at Evangel have an axe to grind with LSU? It's a shame that LSU, for some reason, doesn't even get a serious look from these kids. Don't understand why the kids at Evangel and Curtis don't even seem to have any interest in playing at LSU eventhough it is the flagship school of their state and has enjoyed great success. Do the coaches at both schools steer their kids away from LSU? :nope: :LSU231:

LSU has had quite a few Evangel players on the team.

:geaux: Guess the last one was Hester, and before that not much. Phillip Maxwell (LB) never really played and the last one before that may have been Chase Pittman, who originally went to Texas. Before him was maybe Byron Dawson. I'm sure I've missed someone, but I don't think there have been that many.

Point is we don't exactly have a lot of success at Evangel, especially say when compared to West Monroe for example. They (Evangel) obviously have a top-notch program, like West Monroe, and are always in the mix for State Championships, one of which they won this year. You'd think that with a program as successful Evangel's is that LSU would be recruiting their players more and have more success at it. The players there seem to go more to schools like Texas A&M, Texas, Texas Tech & Okla. St. Don't know if there's anything to it or not, but for whatever reason LSU doesn't exactly have a "pipeline" to Evangel and the situation looks quite similar to the situation with LSU and John Curtis, IMO. Just sayin..... :LSU231:

It's been established that Evangel's players are great in the Evangel system. In Div 1, not so much.
That said, Thomas looked pretty good.

I bet if you looked at the numbers you would find that the numbers we pull from Evangel compare to just about any other school we recruit. Recruits are usually pretty spread out between schools. Also like posted by Sabanfan Evangel seems to be more of a system school. I don't know of more than a few Evangel players that have had stellar college careers.
