When he came over to the house I always asked about LSU and he was a fan just like me and I am sure he loves FSU more now but he did love LSU but just did not love the opportunity compared to what Bowden was selling. Minor was a bigger fan than Dunn in my eyes. Applewhite was a Bama guy, no doubt.:yelwink2:

It could be a mistake but they have said he will get looks at the wildcat as well. Ultimately it all depends on Reed himself but he feels he has a better shot at early PT there.

As for Benton that is a bad example. Many Auburn fans expected him to bust out his 1st year but that was wishful thinking. He was out of shape and hasn't stepped on a football field in 2+ years when he arrived. However, he still received playing time without much production.

Well, I hope the best for him regardless of where he goes but I will stick with my comments, all he has to do is look at the roster, they are pretty much loaded up at RB and WR and Lattice might end up going there as well.

He is entitled to his opinion on the matter, it's his life but I don't know what he is looking at if he is looking for early playing time there. Good luck to him though.

I agree for the most part but the RBs on the roster should have no bearing on his decision. I believe they could use some help at the slot WR spot which he is being recruited for.

When a coach is promising all types of playing time to guys and they are considering using wildcat stuff to get guys on the field RBs and WRs a like are going to want those touches. At the end of the day if I look at the roster and see what they have recruited at those positions over the last couple of years I see Reed most likely sitting for a while especially at WR.

I think I am being honest here, I thought Lache made a good decision to go elsewhere because he was going to get limited touches at LSU, with any WRs that comes in here though he has a great opportunity to not only play but potential start in a 3 WR set or if an injury, etc. happens right off the bat.

If he is basing it off of something other than early playing time than he should go, if it's early playing time I would suggest he look at their roster. Promises are easy to make, making them happen is an entirely different thing. IMHO

Promises are sometimes meet and sometimes not but RBs should and will not come into his decision process. He was told he would get some shots at the QB spot given he was a QB this year in HS and the wildcat would come into play but he knows that it would be situational and not the main offense.

He is not committed to them solely because of an opportunity of early playing time and snaps from the QB spot but also because of Coach Lupper amid other coaches and his relationship and family feel of the campus. Auburn fans seem to think they need a true slot WR and Reed more than fits the bill and he will get playing time early in his career if he ends up there.

You might be right but when I look at their QB position it's just as full if not fuller for wildcat stuff.
    - Cameron Newton 5star dual threat QB from Juco.
    - Tyrik Rollison 2009 class 4star dual threat QB

If he is good enough he certainly can move people out of the way at Auburn but he is going to have to move them out of the way which to me has nothing to do with the chance of seeing early playing time. imho Auburn is loaded at the skills positions and if he can get early playing time there at a skill position he pretty much could go anywhere and get early playing time from what I can tell.

Guys, i'm not normally a guy to "complain", but i have to ask....why are we discussing Trovon Reed and his role at Auburn or the # of RBs that LSU and Auburn have produced in the "Markeith Ambles" thread.....

Because Ambles mentioned talking to Reed in his last update.

SIU, we are talking about 2-3 plays a game where he could come in as a wildcat QB. Happens across the nation as with Harvin at UF, etc... No QBs would be moved out to make way for a few snaps a game.
