No I did not. I pointed out what you said I said. Never said any such thing. You made that up, now you don't even remember making it up. Yes, Crowton is not a good OC IMHO, I would say he is horrible. That I admit to. No, I never said Hunter decommited because of him. I am sorry you get mixed up with what I said versus what you make up I said.
Really, how many players has LSU put into the NFL this decade as opposed to UT. Not including the pending draft coming up, where we have 11 players with the possibility to be drafted. Part of the reason these kids choose particular programs is that very possibility, and we are waaay above the possibilities that UT might have to offer. Yes, these kids do have tv's, and so do scouts. Considering LSU is on TV substantially more than UT, these kids have the ability to be seen more at LSU. One of many other reasons why to choose LSU over UT, despite Crowton.
So what? You don't even know what the kids goal is, how many NC did LSU play last decade. So What? Kids decided to start coming to LSU. Times change. I agree there are many reasons to pick LSU over UT, Crowton is not one of them no matter how many players LSU has put in the NFL. It might surprise you, most of the kids will not be playing in the NFL, a lot of them are smarter than what you think. Crowton is not a selling point. Hunter made his decision and that's that, I for one don't think he made a mistake, he made a choice.
Never said it was the kids goal, but I would put money on it, that it is a consideration in the kids mind. Never said Crowton was a selling, point, just that many receivers have faired well under his system. My contention still remains, and maybe it is because I am an LSU alum that the kid is making a mistake choosing UT over LSU. Choose UF, USC, Texas, etc national power teams and my opinion might be different, but choosing UT over LSU isn't much better than choosing LaTech over LSU.
Who said they didn't fair well? A 3rd rounder and 7th rounder, neither one really developed under Crowton. You must be watching some other games then the rest of us. LaTech was the school the HC came from. What are you even talking about. Did you even watch a freaking LSU game this year? IT'S HORRIBLE, END OF STORY. I have no idea why the kid left but if he left because of Crowton it would not surprise me, it doesn't sound like it. You are entitled to your opinion and you can claim anything you want, but I am not going to agree with you that a kid is better off going to LSU because of Crowton or anything remote associated with that concept. If he is basing it off of OC I would say he should consider going somewhere far, far away from BR. Everyone was warned by the BYU fans.
You are entitled to your opinion as well, but until you can convince me that Crowton was the reason, or that there is something that miraculous has happened at UT for the kid to change his mind, you won't change mine. Also, if "it doesn't sound like it", that Crowton is the reason for the kid not choosing LSU, then why are you so hell bent on trashing Crowton and claiming it wouldn't surprise you, as the argument you are using. Sounds to me like you are talking out your @#& just to give any reason why a recruit would recommit, but then again that would go along with the rest of your negative posts about LSU. For the record I watched every LSU game, I never defended GC or his output for this year, just the claim that under his system players seem to be doing well in regards to what the NFL sees.
lafell had 3 yrs under gc. both of byrd's 2 yrs at LSU were under gc. its hard to discount his influence on them.
I can't say he hasn't had influence, contrary... the whole offense has had his influence, not exactly a selling point to me being basically last. Hey, maybe some dumb kid turned on the TV and was taken back by the great offensive showing, my guess is most were not too thrilled. As far as Hunter, it sounds like a combination of things. I am done on this topic.
Meachem and Stallworth come to mind. I am sure there are a couple of others I am not remembering in the past 10 years or so. Isn't the Brown guy from Philly a Vol? He had that one good year and disappeared just recently. Not a huge difference in NFL success. No LSU player had lit it up in the NFL. Reed was good at first and then disappeared. Clayton was a one year wonder. Henderson has finally come into his own. Bowe seems to have the best upside but is a head case of sorts and reportedly lazy. Doucet has potential and we will see where his career takes him in these next couple of seasons. Buster Davis was a total bust for being a 1st rounder.
