I don't think hes a bad pickup at all. I'd like to land at least Boone to feel comfortable about losing Davis/Hunter though. Slidell does run a sloppy system...I could definitely see how he fell through the cracks. I did see him play once and he looked pretty athletic to me. I didn't think he'd ever get a LSU offer to be honest though. Not a knock on him at all. In fact, I didn't even know about him until recently and then thought back to the Slidell game I saw. It just makes me wonder now why Slidell never found a way to get this kid the ball more. I know they didn't have a great passing QB and I guess that would definitely help. Why not give him more exposure though? Slidell is not a very good team, btw. He had a huge play against Ponchatoula that I saw in that game...I remember specifically. I believe those vertical stats are true. Seeing him in one game and then his game film...I don't see how he runs a 4.47...ESPN's evaluation I just looked at seemed to agree, hes a solid possession receiver graded at 78(which is pretty good, especially for a unknown). Also, I'd just like to say...I thought his listed weight would be bigger than that. He certainly looks bigger than what hes listed at...
The kid jumps that far in the long jump? Wouldn't it be funny if he beats the tar out of Justin Hunter in the long jump during track season...:hihi:.
I don't know...those are pretty insane stats for anyone, I'm not sure if I really believe them... They're almost too good to be true. But he does have a great vertical for sure...obviously I can't say how high it is but against Ponchatoula I remember him going way up for a big play. I know he had over a 50 yard catch in that game too. Anyone know how legit that combine is and if they hand timed or what?
Here is another link with the times of prospects across the country from the same camp circuit. It says he ran a 4.47 and compares nicely with some nice prospects. Max Emfinger Recruiting
I'm actually pretty excited about him. Good WR name  Williams tied the NFL combine record for the standing broad jump (at 11 feet 5 inches). "It's a standardized test of power, basically," San Diego Chargers college scout Tom Gibbons said. "It's been done for years, so it gives us a starting point and something to compare the players to each other. Since we've done it for years, we can also compare these players to the players of the past as well." (NFL.com)
From the AU side of the tracks, you got a very underrated guy. Grades are the only question. If he gets in you have a dude that will leave a mark.
