This is usually the only game I get to attend all year since I live in Metry. Tiger fans 30:1 in the beginning and 5:1 by the end. That base stealing attempt by Mathook (sp?) was ill-timed. (8th inning I believe). Who knows what could've happened there since the next two batters got on base. Tigers hit into far too many double play tonight. Matty looked really good.
Jay, I really like how LSU responded when they were challenged. They went for the win despite the lesser importance of the non conference game. This winning attitude and drive will be something the team will be able to reach back on when the chips are down. Remember all those come from behind wins LSU got in the last couple of seasons? They develop mental confidence and endurance that carries over from season to season. Games like this really have great impact on forming a team's character and defining a season. Plus, I bet they really wanted to win the game for Wally's memory. This was an important game. :tigereye: Too bad they had to use a lot of pitching though, I hope it doesn't hurt us this weekend. It'd be nice to get big early leads now to take the pressure off the pitching staff wouldn't it. :thumb:.
Excellent point. It is games like this that are defining moments for a season. No matter the circumstances a never quit attitude will carry this team in many series this season. l
We only used arms for one or two innings. Like an extended bull pen. I think we'll be ok for the weekend.
