#1 rated TE on Scout and Rivals received an offer from LSU. He is from Las Vegas and has received a ton of offers with the most interest coming from LSU, UF, FSU, USC, OU, UCLA, etc...

He actually has many LA ties. He has a ton of family in LA (Monroe) and his cousin is Mingo. He also has family in Dallas.

He excels at blocking but is also a receiving threat.

How did he get way out in Vegas? Did a hurricane blow him out of LA or has he been out there the whole time?

I think he has been there the whole time because I did not read anything about him moving that way.

Oh well, at least we have some sort of family tie. It would have been better if his family was here more recently. I'm sure we would like the #1 TE in the nation, but we already have Jacobs and have a great shot at Dickson. This is a little off-track but I saw where Scout had Dickson rated as a DE. I know his brother played both TE and DE in high school. I assume everyone still projects Travis as a TE.

If we land Travis, I think he will be a TE but there is always a chance the staff will see him fitting better at DE. But the depth chart points to TE at this point.

That is true. Our depth chart at DL is great and we need a replacement for the older Dickson. We can't seem to land the great TE recruits on a regular basis. I remember when we were after Oklahoma's great TE. For some reason California seems to produce some very good TE's. You just don't see that many 6'5, 6'6 guys around here that are pass catching TE's.

Maybe not. Seems the article has already been pulled. Rare screw up from Huffman.
