This could be Coach Miles best recruiting class yet. Ever better than last year's when ESPN ranked us no. 1 (just my opinion). :geaux:
Hi guys. I just signed up for this site a couple of minutes ago. If any of you post on Tiger Droppings, you've probably seen a few of my posts on the Recruiting Board. I just learned about this site a few weeks ago by chance. I definitely see some familiar faces from Tiger Droppings as well. Anyways,I was wondering if any of you happened to have a list of the old rankings for players on Scout. I have been compiling the ratings of players on Rivals and ESPNU to see how our commitments and major targets have been moving in the national rankings throughout the season. Unfortunately, I forgot that Scout was updating a couple of weeks ago and do not have the original rankings for any of the players. If I remember correctly (off the top of my head), Tharold Simon was around 230, Zach Lee was around 270, and Ronnie Vinson was in the 210 range. Davis, Hunter, Ware, Allen, and Eric Reid were all in the top 100 initially. Would any of you happen to have the initial rankings? I would definitely appreciate it and I'll share my findings at the end of the recruiting cycle both on TD and here.
I've been lurking at TD for the last month or so and I have noticed your postings...You're a good poster. I think you can really contribute here like Colts Tigers does. Welcome.
I use to Post all the time on that other site, but it got to be Dog eat Dog on it. To much cutting people down on that site. You will find this site much more enjoyable Open Door. :geaux:
Welcome to the board. I have asked around before for this kind of information and "Books" on TD.com had the list saved on his computer. Might want to ask him if he has the last Scout rankings saved.
Thanks for the warm welcome, guys. I agree that TD can get a little hostile from time to time (though not for the regulars). However, part of the reason is because you'll see posters open topics about whether John Chavis should be fired for not getting Corey Nelson or Shaun Lewis, or whether Les shouldn't be offering Mike Davis and Justin Hunter and instead be focusing on local kids from Lafayette and Baton Rouge I try not to get into arguments with anyone, but I can understand why some of the guys who have been around since the beginning can get frustrated with those kinds of posts. I guess that's one of the problems when half the people in Baton Rouge have heard about the site. The quality is bound to be diluted somewhat. However, I definitely enjoy that site, and I like the layout over here as well. I'll definitely come by here more often. Bhelm, thank you very much. This is exactly what I was looking for. I had asked Lynxcat and couple others and no one else had saved that info. The best thing that I had found beforehand was a Notre Dame fan site (Analysis of the Scout 300 - GoldHelmet.com) that compared how their offered players had fared in the evaluation process. Unfortunately, the only guys who had been offered by both ND and LSU were Mike Davis, Spencer Ware, and Eric Reid. In case anyone is interested, in March Davis was 52 and in June, he was at 56. Eric Reid went from 122 to 100. Ware went from 73 to 88, before the last rankings. Thanks again for the list, Bhelm. I'll update this post in a few minutes.
So here is how the latest rankings affected LSU's recruits. Players Who Moved Up Mike Davis: 56 to 48 Spencer Ware: 88 to 71 Jordan Allen: 78 to 59 Justin Maclin: 194 to 167 Tharold Simon: 257 to 145 Tyrann Mathieu: NR to Highest Rated 3-star CB Players Who Dropped Down Justin Hunter: 98 to 108 Eric Reid: 100 to 102 Evan Washington: 207 to 217 Ronnie Vinson: 212 to 216 Travis Dickson: 230 to 252 Zach Lee: 275 to being the highest rated 3-star QB (probably in the 305-315 range).
