Re: Updated Rivals team ratings I can't add a thing to what is an otherwise excellent point. Welcome to the board, btw. PS - don't mind me, number crunching is a must....it's what I do.
Re: Updated Rivals team ratings High Character kids seems to be a theme in this years class...and who also happen to be pretty talented as well.
Re: Updated Rivals team ratings We all get into the numbers it seems. It will be interesting to see what happens with the guys Miles picked up that were not even rated, to see if they are on the radar after the coming season or are high school busts. The problem I think in recruiting now is you are basically evaluating 15-16 year old now. They have to actually guess at who is going to be good... especially in the D&O line where they too young to evaluate on size alone since they are basically young kids yet and not developed. I like what they are doing but that doesn't mean it can't backfire. You still need good athletes to compete but I would take a 3 star that doesn't act like Michael Jackson than a 5 star that thinks everyone owes him something. I would still take 11 Jacob Hester's over 1000 Terrel Owens, even if we lost every game. I was pretty suspect on Miles for the first few years but I like what he has done. Thanks for the welcome.
Re: Updated Rivals team ratings I would say D-line is the biggest question mark as far as transitioning from High School to College. I definitely agree with you there.
Re: Updated Rivals team ratings Projected up to the minute rankings 1. Texas..... 2128 (19) 2. LSU........ 1990 (21) 3. OU......... 1776 (20) 4. Florida.... 1688 (15) 5. Alabama.. 1594 (18) Note: Hardrick and Blackmon not yet rated for LSU. Hardrick projected as 4 star and Blackmon 3 star.
Re: Updated Rivals team ratings Bama at #5? Clearly, Rivals is rotten with Bammers. Except for the fact that Scout has Bama rated higher than Rivals...

Re: Updated Rivals team ratings With the Dickson commit: 1. Texas..... 2128 (19) 2. LSU........ 2060 (22) 3. OU......... 1843 (21) 4. Florida.... 1688 (15) 5. Alabama.. 1594 (18) Note: Hardrick and Blackmon not yet rated for LSU. Hardrick projected as 4 star and Blackmon 3 star. LSU now with a projected 3.68 average.
Re: Updated Rivals team ratings I'm thinking the class breakdown will look like this for us.. for a total of 27 and star average of 3.70 5* - 1 4* - 17 3* - 9
Re: Updated Rivals team ratings I got us as 1/18/8. So definitely very close. I think the last 3 star will be Ginsburgh. Reed will be our 16th four star player (if you count Hardrick, which I do). Lache as a 5 star makes it 25. I think the other 2 spots will be filled by four star players as well (2 of these 4 ---> DL, LB, OL, WR/ATH). Also, we do have somewhat of a chance that one of our 4 star players bolts into the top 30 and gets a 5th star. Reed is extremely close at 39, and other players have a shot with a huge senior campaign.
