tigerforums has more resources than espn and im not kidding. the larger states generally have more players ranked at the beginning because they produce more players with film and scouts have seen more of these guys. the states have better camps and the players get more exposure. as the year goes on the overrated ones slide off and new players arrive, generally from smaller schools and smaller towns.
What happened to Nick Montana (maybe I should wait to see if he is #101)? The hype made it out to be he was a top tier prospect on the Clausen/Barkley level.
Really surprised Davis isn't a top 100 player. Allen being that high is another surprise. Not saying he doesn't deserve that spot but I thought it would take Rivals awhile to catch onto his talent. Gj by Rivals catching onto him early. Davis should be a top 100 player consensus, IMO. His teammate, Nelson, which we're going after, would be a 5 star right now in final rankings. We need Nelson and Maclin to finish out our LB class...
He continues to say he's wide open although he had a really great visit to the Buckeyes last month. He's solid, lots of room for growth, and will be a good QB. I wouldn't put him at top tier at this point but he'll be a good one.
Does anyone know how his dad was rated at this point coming out of high school? Did they have any reliable national rating system back then? (I should know this at my age but I don't.)
