Most of the rating agencies have Ware way ahead of Storm. I am not saying rating agencies mean anything but you have to say that he probably isn't bad. The guy produced huge numbers as a sophomore even and his junior numbers were pretty good as well. To me it looked like he took being a QB seriously, he stayed in the pocket very well. He didn't look like he had great speed but he made plenty of people miss. Who knows what is going on in the background with Storm. You basically have to guess that Miles has a lock on Lache, if not the RB position is very suspect for the next few years. I think they are hoping for Lache than they can get Hillard next year as well and have a good backfield. Rolling the dice. LSU really doesn't have too much more wiggle room on that position... if the don't get Lache they will have to start converting some of the DBs back to the offense or hope the FBs can carry some of the load. IMHO There just isn't enough at RB. Sounds like Lache or bust.
Alabama is getting pretty loaded at RB. IMHO Georgia wouldn't be necessarily be far fetched. He has offers from other schools like FL and TN. There has to be more to the story. I don't see why you couldn't have Storm, Ware and Lache... plenty of room after this next year.
rivals, regarded as the most trusted of the recruiting services, has Storm as the 13th best RB and Ware as the 12th best Athlete. I don't think you can go wrong with either player.
The point being Ware isn't exactly cutting room material either. Whether they will be busts is unknown. I don't see why they couldn't have gone Ware, Storm, and Lache... than picked up Hillard next year. There might be more to the story, or the story could be made up entirely... who knows... I would say LSU is running out of chances to be picky if they don't get Lache. They'll have to consider converting some DBs into RBs before this year I would think or plan to use FBs as primary runners or start looking at some JC guys. LSU basically needs 4 guys IMHO.
I agree too. I don't put much stock in rumors or TD for that matter...you have to wade through too much nonsense to get a feel for what may or may not have substance. It seems that most of the posters read Scout and Rivals or Dandy Don and pass off their opinions as original thoughts...all mixed in with fantasies or daydreams with what they hope LSU recruiting will be. It also seems that a lot of the posters look at films and think they are experts at spotting talent. They make all sorts of "expert pronouncements" based on highlight reels and they seem to feed off each other with their opinions. I've been checking out the posts over there because I've never really read that site. There are some good thinkers who post over there, however you have to wade through too much "criticism" posts and "other sources passed off as my own thinking" posts to discover them. Not to criticize the posters, but I put a LOT of stock in what the LSU staff is doing. The soap opera stuff is probably worse since the new rules about reporting what comes out of camps went into effect this year. The lack of info makes for a lot more guessing going on.
So you have after this year: - Murphy (Sr) - Ford (So) - Ware (Fr) - Hopefully Lache (Fr) Don't forget Ridley (Jr). Being from Natchez area, I have high hopes for him.
