re: 2010 RB Storm Johnson "pretty much" COMMITED TO LSU good post! especially the last paragraph.:thumb:
re: 2010 RB Storm Johnson "pretty much" COMMITED TO LSU Martavious Lee - grades Benton had been trying to become eligible since 06... It was time to move on.
re: 2010 RB Storm Johnson "pretty much" COMMITED TO LSU I understand that. The point was, he was very excited at first...ready to commit to play RB for LSU...only to find out that LSU didn't want him for RB. He was embarrassed by that IMO. There was no way he would be a Tiger after that. Should have been known up front that LSU only wanted him as LB...but apparently it wasn't. - Just like it should have been known that LSU was not ready to take SJ's commit PRIOR to him "committing" publicly. Egg on somebody's face, but to the recruit, it has to feel like it's only on his.
re: 2010 RB Storm Johnson "pretty much" COMMITED TO LSU Ok, wait a minute..........did we ask Storm Johnson to play LB? I think Geaux Tigers was saying that Montrell Connor was asked to play LB, not SJ? Can we get some clarity on this..... I highly doubt that we asked a 4 * stud RB to play LB. As to why he didn't officially committ to Miles, i have no clue. We will just have to wait it out and trust the coaching staff and see what happens. Storm, you are still greatly wanted as a part of the LSU Tigers..... Geaux Tigers
re: 2010 RB Storm Johnson "pretty much" COMMITED TO LSU Do yall think that Les may be doing this b/c of Hillard next year? Storm, Michael Ford, and Kenny Hillard are all the same kind of back. Do you think we backed off b/c of not wanting to steer Hillard away? I know many of you think it might be because of Seastrunk but that just doesn't make sense since they are different backs. Either way, I really really like Storm Johnson. He seems like a great kid and he runs hard (through people) like you want a running back to do. Hope we land them all... and Hill!
re: 2010 RB Storm Johnson "pretty much" COMMITED TO LSU Storm and Hilliard are similar types.. I hate to use NCAA as an example.. but they'd be labeled 'power' backs.. and I think Ford will be a 'balanced'.
re: 2010 RB Storm Johnson "pretty much" COMMITED TO LSU I guess I don't really understand the art of recruiting. I don't understand the lack of comunitation between LSU & the recruits they "offer" scholarships to. I know that if you "offer" 50-60 scholarships per year you can't sign them all but couldn't you at least have a understanding that the recruit should at all costs clear it with the head coach before he commits publicly? That really don't seem like that hard of a thing to get across to everyone. As someone mentioned earlier this leaves egg most of all on the face of the recruit & is embarrassing to all involved. For instance I was excited for Storm & LSU & if I met him on the street today as a LSU fan I would be uncomfortable to say the least. What happened with Conner last year can eventually be overcome because of instate loyalty. With a out of state recruit where you have fragile inroads at best it can really hurt recruiting. What say you??
re: 2010 RB Storm Johnson "pretty much" COMMITED TO LSU Conner was asked to play LB, not Storm. Miles just told Storm to hold off until he was done taking visits. He is still all LSU like before.
re: 2010 RB Storm Johnson "pretty much" COMMITED TO LSU :geaux: Just out of curiosity Bhelm, but why does CLM want Storm to wait on his commitment and take other visits? What is the bottom line on why this is happening this way instead of Storm being a commitment now? :LSU231:
