re: 2010 RB Storm Johnson "pretty much" COMMITED TO LSU

IMO, the most probable explanation is that Miles wants him to take his visits before commiting.

I'm pretty sure this is not a C. Michael situation where the coaching staff isn't sure if they want him.

That's what some are saying on Tigerdroppings...that he sill wanted to take his visits so the coaches told him to wait till after. It makes the most sense, but I never go to that site and can't gauge the credibility of the posters.

They're all guessing, except on guy that says he knows his HS coach & says his commitment wasn't accepted. Even that doesn't tell us much because it could still mean that we want him to wait till he takes his visits.

Sure looks like all things point to him committing to LSU.

I hope that's not true about his committment not being accepted. Bigger is better in the LSU offense. We would be better off with Storm Johnson or even Nick Parker than Seastrunk. Consider Richard Murphy and Charles Scott. I don't think Murphy is nearly as good as Seastrunk but he's pretty fast and was pretty good in HS. At LSU he's been pretty ineffective. Scott on the other hand...

Seastrunk would be much better in a spread offense like Auburn which is probably why he's flirting with Auburn and why I think that's where he will wind up.

I hope LSU is not left holding the bag.

First, off I know little about Seastrunk. But I have to defend Murphy a bit here. He is getting about 3 touches a game over the last two seasons and averaged 6.6 yrd per carry in 07 and 4.2 in 08. He did not bust a long one last year and this hurt his stats. Clearly, Scott was better last year. However, I just don't think of Murphy as ineffective per his stats. To me, we really don't know how effective Murphy can be. But I am not in favor of starting him over Scott to find out.

Actually it makes good sense. Miles wants them to be finished shopping before he earmarks one of just a few schollies he has left.

I agree. If you're still taking visits, you are not committed. I'm sure it's tough on the recruits. They are pretty sure about a program, but haven't visited the others yet. If they tarry, will the program they are pretty sure about still have a spot for them? If they commit too soon, will they find out later they might have liked another program better? So they try to commit for security. However, I agree that if they are still gonna take visits, don't let them commit. If everyone was up front with everyone, and Storm ultimately decides LSU is definitely where he wants to be, he'll be here. I hope the coaches let him know if his spot is in danger. But if it's not yet in danger, I hope he takes his time and makes the right decision for himself.

I don't know, It just seems to me that if Johnson wants to committ & LSU wants him then it would be a done deal. After thinking about it Having him & LS in BR at the same time shouldn't be a problem as from what I read on here they are two different type backs & won't be really competing against each other for playing time? Or would they. Now, holding him off till he is finished visiting may be Miles policy but I don't remember that being the case last year? If thats the case that means that all the commitments we have now are totally finished visiting-period? Rumor time I guess but I am a little disappointed that he didn't commit as we expected. Something happened for sure... may go back to him committing during the quiet period & couldn't get any feed back from LSU?

Are you certain Lache was in town this past weekend? He'll be here Sunday- Wednesday coming up. For someone that AU thinks is there's to lose, he sure is spending a lot of time at LSU.

But really, has it been confirmed that he was at LSU last weekend when Storm was here?
