4* RB out of South Panola HS in MS named LSU his leader. He plans to make a trip to LSU for his 1st time soon and possibly for the July Camp. 6'1 210 4.5 He holds offers from LSU, Ole Miss, Miss St., Tenn, and USM. Auburn, Texas, and FSU are showing interest as well.
I'm suprised that we don't pull more talent out of South Panola than we do. They are always nationally ranked. They call South Panola HS the "University of South Panola" b/c they are so good. I don't know how much D1 talent they crank out annually, but one would think that they would be a D1 factory. Wonder what's up with that.
I know we have a huge South Panola fan on TF. I want to say it is JSRacing. Maybe he can give us some insight on that question. I know they are a D1 factory but LSU has not been a main destination for those guys.
It would seem like we have a good shot at him since he is fairly close. I noticed Bama and Auburn haven't offered yet and I don't know how much the kid likes them. The real question is how good is he? He is said to be a one cut runner who plays through pain. He has decent size, but I haven't seen any film on him. Give us some more analysis, guesswork etc., on this guy because I think he is a real possibility, not just a long shot. I assume we will hold a spot open for Lache. Do you think we will only take 2 RB's or will we take three? Storm and Parker seem to have similar styles with the little info I have received, so do we take both if we can get them?
Here is some video and analysis from ESPN. I wish they had more free video because the other videos I have seen are really impressive. He has great size and has great acceleration through the holes. Nicholas Parker - College Football Recruiting 2010 - ESPN I am not sure how many RBs we take in this class but we will save a spot for Lache and possibly slow play Parker as a backup plan IMO. I think Storm will commit right around the July Camp to take one spot. I do not see us taking 3 because Bates could end up at H-back after arriving on campus, Calhoun is a possible RB as well, and we will want to take Hilliard and Hill in 2011.
i think this will be the controversy of this recruiting season. how long can we afford to wait on Lache and risk losing a 2nd back after only getting 1(assuming Calhoun goes DB) last year?
We'll wait till NSD for Lache. He's that good. We'll take Storm Johnson during the year, giving us the mandatory RB pickup.. and we'll have a backup plan in case we don't land Lache. That might be Nick Parker or it might be a project RB.
I think this might be a sign LSU is losing out on Seastrunk. Sure is a lot of stuff coming out of Auburn saying Seastrunk is going to commit soon and make it public. Reading his interviews, one would think LSU has no chance now. I have seen nothing in the past month that suggest Seastrunk is looking at anybody but Auburn right now. I guess we'll know if he makes our camp or not and what kind of tone he has then...
IMO after watching Calhoun playing RB, I just don't think he can be an every down RB for us. I am hopeful he can find a spot as a DB because I just didn't see anything that suggested he could be an SEC back. He is small and not that elusive. He is a one cut runner that was used in space on pitch-outs and reverses in high school. I was surprised he was ranked as high as he was as a recruit, but I think his speed enamored people.
Do you think Storm is better than Parker? He is only ranked slightly ahead of him. I forgot to look at his offer sheet before starting this reply, but I think it is better than Parker's.
