I don't think anyone was saying that, I for one am not saying that. I would not trade what we already have for him though. With Shepard and the rest of the guys we have in here I would say things could get kind of crowded quickly. To me he is a perfect fit for Ole Miss as far as style, he basically could play every down in that offense. I would probably strike USC off that list since he canceled his trip there.
Wow, a 5 star recruit has been downgraded to Ole Miss? What has happened with this kid? I know the stats aren't there in his senior season, but is he suddenly a step or two slower? I highly doubt that.
He is great in the right offense, all you have to do is look at tape of him. What is so wrong ole miss, didn't they beat us 2 years in a row? He's a situational player in MOST offenses. IMHO It's not that he is bad, contrary, he is actually really good at what he does. I think anyone willing to trade either Ware or Hillard for Lache would be crazy but that is just my opinion, maybe it wouldn't even come down to that, I don't know. If he is an every down back here at LSU, I think Miles might want to start looking for a new job.
LSU-SIU while I think you are entitled to your opinion I think you need to stop posting that we don't want this guy. 99.9 percent of Tiger fans would absolutely love if this guy wore the purple and gold and b/c of comments you are making it makes it sound like none of us want him. How on earth can you say he isn't an everydown back without ever seeing him play? DOn't you think people said the same thing about Dexter McCluster, Chris Johnson, and Noel Devine? People always make this argument just b/c he's not Charles Scott's size. He might not be an everydown back but then again he might. You just never know especially with how our offense operates out of the shotgun. Speed backs are better than Bruisers most of the time in that offense. Please don't act like you wouldn't be a little excited if we got the biggest playmaker of this years class.
There is no need to trade Ware or Hilliard for Lache. They are different backs. With proper coaching that works well. Look what USC did with Bush and White. Power and speed combo works. Lache is more than just a situational back. The problem is the coaches dont try to get the ball to the best players, but rather try to spread it around a lil too much instead of diversifying the attack.
I never once said LSU did not want this guy, contrary to that actually. I am making it sound exactly how I feel, if you disagree I am fine with that. I never once said I was speaking for anyone else. I said "I".
It has nothing to do with trading, it's not like LSU would have a say so. Who knows? I think we will have to agree to disagree on the rest.
I don't understand the downgrading either. The guy had a bad week at the AA game, big deal. So he ran 100 yards laterally for no positive gain on one of the few touches he actually got. So what. The guy is a stud and a very gifted athlete, just look back at the jump ball pics posted a few months ago. The more skilled guys we can get on the team the better. There are countless posts about guys' potential and what-ifs. Our big knock on Lache is that he has a tendency to juke right... really, thats all we got on this guy! He's better suited for Ole Miss... you are kidding yourself if you would not McCluster on your team. How about Demps and Rainey? In space those guys are good for 8 yards easy but they can still go through the middle. Lache will be the same way. Finding a way to get the guy invloved is a good problem to have. While LSU has a stable of running backs, Lache is an undeniable take. Some guys don't work out or never reach their full potential. Some switch positions. We thought Davenport was the answer at DT but may get come into his own on the OL. Hilliard may blow up and become an All-American LB. The point of my blabbering rant is that the more talent we can get, the better.
