Lache said he wants to see who LSU hires to replace Porter. He has strong to the either coaches as well at LSU. A solid hire will keep us in it. Definitely not USC lock.
Bhelm, I'm hearing also that LSU is making a big push for Blue now. If so sounds like they feel LS is moving on. What say you?
LSU has been pushing for Blue for awhile now and the same goes for Lache. We will target many RBs in case we don't land our targets. We are looking at the Capitol RB as well as a backup plan. Blue and Lache will be close to NSD commits, so it would be foolish for LSU to give up on anyone at this time. Blue is 50/50 LSU/OM at best at this point. We can't put all of our eggs in one basket. Lache is not talking, so any speculation that he has moved on is just that speculation.
I'm not saying he will sign with Auburn because I have no clue but I don't think we are totally out of it. He is coming with Trovon Reed for an official visit on Jan 15th.
You are an Auburn fan right? You are right, Auburn is not out of it. A lot of fans are making general assumptions right now when he is staying quiet. He still has to take officials, in-home visits, etc... LSU and Auburn have a lot working for them and leaving home becomes harder to do as NSD approaches especially with Lache's mom. Lache will be taking one to LSU as well and I wouldn't be surprised if Reed was with him on that visit given their friendship and the distance from his house. But maybe not, if the Auburn coaches ask him not to. As for those comments about Nick Saban, those were uttered a long time ago. The quotes about LSU a month or 2 after the Nick Saban quote "Lache Seastrunk University, and his mom's quotes about LSU after his 8 day visit were a long time ago as well. Lache has a lot to do and think about before he even knows exactly what he is doing.
The thing that LSU has going for it is the proverbial "early playing time". WE NEED RUNNING BACKS !!! this is beginning to remind me of the dearth of QB recruits after RP enrolled here. All the injuries to RBs here this season exposed the need for depth at the position. Reed committed to Auburn for the same reason...they needed receivers more than we did. He'd have probably redshirted here. We're still one of the best programs in the SEC and the nation. I'm sure Lache realizes that he'll probably play a lot as a true freshman for LSU.
I saw the below on an AU site, does anyone have an idea what it is about? Something that Lache's mom said about Lache, Reed, and Auburn has the LSU fans on tigerdroppings in a mini meltdown. It looks like it was a premium article on an LSU site. TIFWIW
Pretty much says screw you to anyone who ever said LS was out of it with Auburn... Which, again, I never understood. Especially with his best bud committed to AU now anyway.
