The way I see it is that most of the USC insiders have not heard USC is in the lead for Lache. The report came from the new ESPN premium service. He made a comment about a week ago to not listen to everything you hear when asked about the USC rumor. However, USC is a team on his mind and if we see Mrs. Seastrunk make a trip to USC then I see something to worry about. She is the key to his recruitment no matter what rumors we hear.

I am worried about what effect Porter leaving for greener fields would have on Seastrunk's decision.

Yeah, that's a good point, especially in light of our offensive woes, and if we truly did change OCs.

Crowton being out would be a very good thing. No favoritism to deal with, etc. Would give the new OC a chance to come in and say I want you to be a significant part of my offense here, and this is how..

That's huge for someone like Lache.

He can't build a relationship with a coach in recruiting in two months when he has other coaches recruiting him that have built a relationship for 2+ years.

However, we do not know who the next coach could be and he may fit into that 2+ year category as well.

Losing Porter and Crowton would definitely put a kink into things but we have no idea what comes next. Plus we are still going to have Miles and other staff members who have been recruiting him for 2+ years.

Regardless of what happened last weekend, Miles still has a great living room presence. I wouldnt count him out although like I said before, dont underestimate that fugger at Aub. My uncle in law at Tenn swears by that guys recruiting prowess. He already got Reed and Seastrunk is definitely within his reach. If we are dumping Crowton and Porter I hope someone else is already in deep contact with Lache.

I'll be quite honest, it wouldn't surprise me not one bit if AU landed him. The potential relationship between the Seastrunks, their pastor, and AU's RB coach concerns me. Combine that with the possibility of us losing Porter...

    I don't think he's going to USC

But a new offensive coordinator won't hurt our chances in any way. Losing Porter will.. but Crowton.. not so much. A new offensive coordinator may best losing our RB coach, imo. At least it would for me.

DRC.. we aren't "dumping" Porter. He's likely going to be the offensive coordinator at Memphis next year.

ESPN reporting that the Memphis job going to a coach from the Redskins. Does this mean we keep Porter? I hope so.
