I like you BHELM, but all of the things you've said about how good it looks with Lache/LSU are the same things u were saying about LSU chances with Reed. Reed looks all AU right now and would surprise me if he didn't commit to AU.

If you followed what I have been saying about Reed since the beginning you will see I just put out the information as it comes. In the beginning I said I wouldn't be surprised if he went out of state because he lost his mother and may feel like getting a new start somewhere else.

Then I got word that LSU was looking really good for Reed when he visited numerous times during the summer for camps and practices. Most of the updates by recruiting sources had direct quotes from Reed on LSU's chances as well.

As NSD approaches we have gained Hunter and Mike Davis and have RR stepping up as a #3 WR as each games passes. Plus Jarvis Landry will be an impact player when he comes in the following year. Reed is leaning to going somewhere where he knows he will get an opportunity to play early, LSU can't guarantee that.

Prospects are teenagers who's minds change as much as the weather. There is still a long way to NSD and many things could change before then and now. Today I said AU is in the driver's seat which shows you I am passing the info in as I get it. Now we have to wait and see what the LSU staff does if he does indeed keep his announcement date and commits to AU. Will LSU start pushing for commits from Fobbs and/or Wright? If we get commits from both we know that LSU is not holding out hope for him by giving away his spot.

I do not have a close source on Reed like I do Lache. LSU is in a great spot for Lache's signature but as always he is a kid who has a long time to go till NSD and I wouldn't change LSU's position with any other program at this time.

That is simply the name of the game with recruiting. I compare it to Texas Hold'em. If you can't handle the swings, then following recruiting is not a recommended activity in your spare time.

And this is another reason why you don't bet all your chips one 1 recruit.
If we sign 3 or 4 WR's in this class and 2 of them turn out to be solid SEC calibur wideouts, then our coaches will have done a rock-solid job with this class.

Exactly, LSU is prepared by not backing off Wright and Fobbs at all this year. In Fobbs' case it actually intensified when he committed to A&M.

I understand what you are saying, the creme does rise to the top, but sometimes it's a very thick layer. It has long been observed that when a position is loaded, there is usually a logjam behind the starter and some very, very talented players will see a lot of bench even though they are only slightly less effective than the starter. A position coach can only spread out the playing time between four or five backs so much before it hurts continuity of the team and also hurts the starter's All-American and NFL prospects.

When too many Prima Donnas congregate, players end up transferring. We've seen it a lot in this decade and so has USC. As a consequence, many of the divas pay attention to not getting into a situation where there are too many studsters to possibly get all of them the NFL and Heisman attention-getting playing time that they desire.

Both schools will be contending nationally and have high-visibility programs.

USC's extra appeal to a small-town back like Seastrunk is that it's in the center of the world for high-visibility Hollywood TV coverage, celebrity elbow-rubbing, film and TV curricula, and access to media opportunities. That's what pulled McKnight, despite the stiff competition facing him.

LSU's extra appeal is that it is graduating two seniors and returning nobody with any significant time at running back. It will be Lache Seastrunk University. It's SEC football with all of the excitement that comes with it . . . and close enough for Mama to make the games.

You got to think Lache and Trovon had a better than expected visit to Oregon this weekend.

They are going to be showing some love to them this week.

Is this anything to be worried about Bhelm? Or is it just going to be for the rest of this week? Seastrunk could be our Dexter Mccluster for us the next couple of years and I definately don't want to lose him.

Haven't seen any reports yet. The only thing I have seen which is probably rumor but maybe not is that Lache was at the Baylor game according to a Baylor fan.

Either way, distance is too far for Lache and his mom in the end but we will hear rumblings throughout the process.

Reed, however, has been high on Oregon since the beginning. Maybe they tipped the scales but I have my doubts about the distance factor as well.
