Yeah I thought it was funny too but it might be something to it. In the following article from a NO site, the writer says after last weekend it was 'firm' that Reed/Seatrunk were headed to Auburn. Recruiting report card from last week's LSU-Florida tilt What does he mean by 'firm as of this past weekend"? There's an article on AU's site saying they spoke with a 2011 recruit that was with Lache/Reed last weekend and they were talking up AU big time. The recruit is now supposedly interested in AU. I'm suspecting it was Jarvis Landry Either AU's site is telling a blatant lie or it doesn't look good for us. I'll keep u guys posted, I'm always at TD :geaux:
Not true.. at least the 'talking up Auburn' part. Seastrunk was reportedly talking up LSU, etc. Jarvis Landry is going to LSU too. "Looks like Lache will save his official to LSU for January when many of the committed prospects will be in." -- very good sign. We may not get Reed, I think we will.. but he's not a class-breaker by any means.
Yea, that guy who made the New Orleans report is saying the opposite of every other source I have and what Scout and Rivals have from the weekend. Sounds like an attempt to get a few hits. Nothing to worry about there. Lache was talking up LSU at the game to not only 2011 recruits but 2010 guys as well. I even heard Lache's mom had a great time spreading her knowledge about LSU to the other recruits parents. Lache is going to have a great time at any visit and there will be similar stories after each one but the fact that his mom and distance are the main factors play heavily into LSU's hand. I think Reed is going to be the more hyped up with stories because I feel he is at the point of looking at everything to make sure he makes the right choice. Look for him to talk up other schools besides Auburn as well. But in the end, you have to like LSU's chances with the depth concerns we will have after this year and more importantly friends and family here in LA. Rule of thumb: it gets harder and harder to leave home as NSD approaches. Let it get out of his system now instead of November. Also, IMO even if we missed out on Reed, it is not a huge loss because I keep hearing guys like Fobbs and Wright are looking even better. Mike Davis can play the slot as well and could even win out. Also, if Lache lands here can you really see Reed leaving his new best friend to attend to his home school while he travels out of state.
He really seems to be enjoying his West Coast swing. He has an official scheduled for one of the UCLA games. It's a good way to play. Take your unofficials close to home and make the left coasters pay for your officials and enjoy the ride. Lache has played his recruiting very well.
For the most part I agree. However, I really think it depends on the position. QB and WR positions require learning a lot more subtleties of plays than a running back generally does. Additionally, we seem to be a bit thin at RB right now and that will play in favor of LS probably getting more time as a freshman. Stepping back and looking at the larger point for a minute. Let's suppose Miles starts reducing the playing time of Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors in order to give Freshmen more playing time right away. Won't that - over time - work against Miles also? What is to prevent recruits from saying "At LSU I'll get to see playing time right away, but over time I could potentially see less playing time as new recruits sign on the line"? Is there a good answer here?
Was Lache at the Auburn game? I'm sure he was. Anyone heard on how it went? I'm sure the fans didn't disappoint them. Tiger Stadium was rockin'. Thanks in advance for any updates.
