Lache, Trovon, and family should be in Auburn this weekend. Hope the tornado warnings tonight do not disturb them. Haven't confirmed that they are there yet. Also a 4 star OLB from a non traditional area for AU is suppose to be in town, maybe to check out the aeronautical engineering program.....
Auburn is a real threat for his services and the visit could go along way this weekend. Some are saying Trovon going to Auburn with LAche in a way helps LSU since many think it will be hard for LSU to lose out on him. Texas has backed off because of it. This will be a very interesting 3 way battle for awhile but do not be surprised if USC becomes a bigger threat down the stretch.
Lache and Trovon are staying in Auburn tonight, not quite ready to head home. Big grins all day long.
Yes, they planned to spend Easter with Luper. Just hearing that they were really enjoying themselves today and saying a lot of good things about AU, getting my hopes up....
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=4066928&name=Southeast_Recruiting Auburn impresses visitors Tuesday, April 14, 2009 | Print Entry Posted by JC Shurburtt Auburn made quite an impact on two of the top prospects in the country during the weekend. Running back Lache Seastrunk (Temple, Texas/Temple) told ESPN affiliate AuburnUndercover.com that his unofficial visit to the plains during the weekend was "bar none the best visit I've ever had in my entire life." Seastrunk's hometown pastor is Auburn assistant coach Curtis Luper's father, so there was a family connection there and the speedy running back praised the Tigers' staff for promoting a family atmosphere. "They stress family in everything they do," he said. Wide receiver Trovon Reed (Thibodeaux, La./Thibodeaux) was another headlining unofficial visitor at Auburn and came away equally impressed. There were even rumors from other prospects and their high school coaches that Seastrunk and Reed had verbally committed to Auburn, something that both players and sources close to the Tigers' program denied. Still, it's quite a buzz when folks are talking about two of the top skill position players in the country possibly committing. Regardless, you have to be impressed with the buzz that Gene Chizik and his staff have created on the recruiting trail. Multiple testimonials from recruits heap praise on Chizik and the Tigers staff for being impressive, warm and exciting all at the same time.
After last year I am grasping and hoping. It is a LONG way til next Feb, and guys say something nice on just about every visit, but this is still better than: http://dagreatwhitehype.blogspot.com/2008/10/life-and-times-of-willie-williams.html ''I really wanted to go to Red Lobster for some more lobster and steak, but they told me the wait was two hours. So I got me some babyback ribs, buffalo wings and shrimp,'' Williams said. ``Even though I ordered first, somehow, I was still the last one to get my food. It took them like two hours.'' During the wait, several of the female hosts, nicknamed the ''Tigerettes'', offered him some of their spinach dip. ''You know how it is, those girls are supposed to be there to cheer you up,'' Williams said. ``But I told them, `I ain't no animal, and I ain't going to eat no plant.' ``But they kept pushing it toward me. It was disgusting. I told them, `I'm from Miami. I don't eat that. You farm people are used to it, but not me.'' * * * Later that night, the recruits were invited to a party on campus with their hosts. ''The girls at the party were much better than the farmer girls we'd see all day around campus,'' Williams said. ``I was kind of worried all Auburn had to offer was those farmer girls that talked funny. But the girls at the party weren't farmer girls at all. I thought they must have bused them in from Miami.''.
Having a great visit is fine and dandy, but when these guys realize that if they committed they would be playing for lowly Auburn and a coach who went 5-20 at Iowa St, they'll quickly realize that they need to focus some of that attention elsewhere. Auburn's performance last season and this upcoming season will likely help in pushing them away. LSU and Texas in the end.
