We have to wait and see what decommits we have coming and who we will slap a greyshirt on. I am sure there will be one or two, like most years.
There will probably be 1 decommit sooner or later. We may end up taking a full 28.. and athletes who enroll early can back count (I think..) to last years class (can anyone clarify how exactly that works?). With grey shirts.. we're looking at 28-30 commitments this year.
Re: 2010 RB Alfred Blue With Blue's commitment and Gore's commitment what type of affect does that have on Lache if any.
Re: 2010 RB Alfred Blue Not yet but he will try to this week when Miles visits his home. Only question is if we accept it at this time or ask him to hold off. I think we will accept it IMO. I haven't heard much about Ware recently but he could be someone to watch to see if he ends up sticking. To clarify, this is just speculation based on him being a long way out of state. I have not heard any rumors that he is going to decommit.
I am always confused on how this works because the rules always change and they changed this year because of the new 28 rule. Don't quote me but I have heard we can count 2 back to last year because we signed and enrolled 25 last year. It is not 3 because we slapped a greyshirt on QB Barrett Bailey. I don't know of any that are going to enroll early this year. So we may not be eligible anyway. Oh and greyshirts count in the 28 because they have to sign on NSD as well. So there is no way we can sign 30 this year. I am confused again but I will look into how this rule works.
See, I thought back counting was making them count towards last years class.. and not against the current 28..:huh::huh: We may never know how it really works,
I doubt that very seriously. He can get faster through the strength program by shedding fat, adding muscle and at the same time work on his technique running the ball. By that, I mean, his Football speed. Too many times I've seen guys with 4.3 speed look like they run a 4.7 because they just don't have that Football speed. It has a lot to do with technique in hitting holes too. That is why I said its overrated for a RB, IMO. Of course...its great to have a back that has amazing agility/acceleration and just add top end speed as icing on the cake. Guys that have that though...are usually superstar NFL backs. Speed is natural, it is not something you can just improve big on. A little but not much.
Thanks for responding. I'm thinking that 40 times are sometimes not that important. Instincts are more important. For example how fast did Jacob Hester run the 40? Probably, it doesn't matter because his heart, drive, and determination gave him success more than his speed did. 40 times, like star rankings and entrance exam scores may be more indicators of success than guarantors of it. I was also thinking that pure speed could be increased through training.
