Re: 2010 RB Alfred Blue If I'm wrong someone please correct me, but maybe he will be too old to play high school ball next year. Usually when that is the case there are academic problems, but I don't think he has any right now. That is why I started this thread to find out the answers to these questions. I don't know what the chances are that he will actually succeed in graduating this year. Some seem to think we are extremely high on his abilities. I think we may be willing to wait on him even if he doesn't graduate this year because he doesn't have character issues like some did last year. Please straighten me out if I am wrong guys.
Re: 2010 RB Alfred Blue OK,, someone explain to me why mr Blue is not rated by Rivals if he has talent? It seems strange to me how these under the radar players suddenly gain stars when they commit to a BCS school (Mathieu). Whats going on? I have no axe to grind with anyone just seems the players we are keeping our fingers crossed on are getting passed up by people way way down the list. Guess we (me for sure) along with the recruiting services don't know as much as we think we do..
Re: 2010 RB Alfred Blue Mathieu's rating had nothing to do with the commitment, it had to do with the fact that the new CB rankings came out this morning. We will see if Blue gets ranked when the new RB rankings come out. He'll likely be a 3* though IMO.
Re: 2010 RB Alfred Blue They're constantly evaluating and releasing new rankings. If i'm not mistaken they do them by position and CBs were today. Don't be shocked if Blue is a 4*.. if he's really higher on our board than Dontae, Ware, and the Storm.. then he's gotta be pretty darn good. Basically.. it's early in the recruiting season. Camps are going on and under the radar prospects are getting attention now. Blue was way under the radar because he was originally classed as a 2011 recruit.
Re: 2010 RB Alfred Blue Just for clarification, I mentioned in my post above that he was reclassified because he is too old to play high school ball.
Re: 2010 RB Alfred Blue Like everyone else, I'm still trying to figure out our RB recruiting strategy this year. I guess we'll find out soon enough, but supposedly Blue really impressed at the camp.
Re: 2010 RB Alfred Blue You shud not be drimking. It is bat for your..., bad for..., I can't remember.
Re: 2010 RB Alfred Blue Maybe the strategy is as simple as advertising that the best players at the LSU camps will get offers and then going through with it. It may be part of a strategy to push the top guys (Seastrunk/Reed) to jump aboard or get left behind. I kind of like the idea of rewarding performance at the LSU camps with offers. Maybe the staff has decided that the performances at the camps is a better indicator of talent than film and hype. Maybe the talented juniors will make it a point to come to the LSU camps next summer. I dunno. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
Re: 2010 RB Alfred Blue He named Ole Miss his leader after their camp because he loves the wildcat offense. LSU sounds like 2nd followed by Bama and Arkansas. He does not hold an offer for Bama.
