The deal he got broke a Dodgers record. Almost double what they paid their highest draft pick ever. You really can't blame this guy for taking the deal. He'd be crazy if he didn't. Hope he has a great career. I think he was serious about staying at LSU but that offer was too good to pass up. Dodgers knew they had to come with the pocket book. Was either that or Lee played LSU perfectly as the bargaining chip.
I think he and his family went about this very smartly and with much class. Great job of staying focused on his future while maximizing his options. I'm bummed, but I wish him all the best. The loss of Chris Garrett stings even worse, now.
A huge disappointment but his decision is understandable. LSU will absolutely have to sign a blue-chip QB next year.
Even if LSU signs a top notch prospect next season, Miles has to go after a JUCO guy, right? I mean you really have to questions his sanity moving forward with this huge hole at QB in the roster.
Yeah, JUCO is a fine route to go for certain positions, but not QB. I think our prospects with Rivers are much better than with a JUCO.
Many Juco and transfers at QB have been very successful in college football. Also been really popular in the SEC as of late with guys like Mallett, etc... I think Rivers will be a good QB but would love to get someone in here to give Rivers 2 years to develop before being thrown to the fire. If Rivers beats him out so be it but at least we gave him some competition.
i meant to post something similar in the other thread in the den. if any one thinks that clm doesnt know what losing the gamble on zl could do to HIS career, they are crazier than he is.
