Well he has spoken to the Dodgers but not very much according to this article: Dodgers no closer to signing top pick | dodgers.com: News
It talks about an initial conversation immediately after the draft, but that's it. Of course, managers will offer very little information out anyway, so tough to say whether it is trustworthy. Encouraging to hear his lack of encouragement in signing Lee though. 11 more days and we'll know for sure.
Talking with a college coach I know in TX. Hes not surprised that Lee signed with LSU, the shock is that hes on campus. An yes, he did see him play a # of times. The kid is a major talent. :thumb:
I hope we keep him for multiple reasons, and I'm sure he's a great and very honest kid. But if I was advising him on this, I'd tell him to pretend like he's really ready to be a college kid and play football unless the offer is just really good .... and see how much I can get. I will not be surprised one bit of he signs and plays baseball. I really hope he stays at LSU, though. Both squads can use his talent!
maybe not. or at least not with as high a pick. say zl comes to lsu and ends up injured in a way that really lowers his draft stock. the kid and his family have to consider all things. i hope he doesnt sign and ends up being a tiger, but there are risks involved with everything.
True, see Chad Jones. In everyday life there are risks. I wish ZL the best in whatever his choice is.....
Still sounds good to me based on the latest LA Times article. This is when the pressure will come on hard and it looks like the Dodgers are going to be the ones wit the real pressure for under spending. Are Dodgers being cost-effective, or just cheap? - Page 3 - Los Angeles Times
