Believe it or not I came thisclose to going to school there in the early '70's. Thank God I stayed at home in BR and went to good ol' Redemptorist instead. They have a graduate's Heisman on display there - Doc Blanchard of Army went to St. Stanislaus in the early 40's. Not sure many high schools can make that claim.
That's pretty cool that you almost went there. There are kids from all over the world that go to St. Stanislaus. I visited a year or two ago and there were alot of New Orleanians that went there and alot of Koreans and a few Europeans as well. St. Stanislaus has a long history with strong ties to New Orleans. My grandma went to OLA and used to tell me stories of when she was a kid about St. Stanislaus and Our Lady Academy.
Dylan Favre led his St. Stanislaus Rock-a-chaws to a 56-33 playoff victory last night. He was 33 of 43 for 471 yards with 8 TD's! (threw for 6 and ran for 2) ....in the stinkin' playoffs!!
most of the people that i know who went to St. Stan were kicked out of public and private schools in Lafayette.
He is a heck of a player. His school is in the South State championship, 1 game away from the State Championship. He plays some high quality competition. He has played in 4A and 5A in the past few years against such powerhouses as Picayune and D'Iberville.
If he doesnt take a scholarship, i think it would be pretty cool for him to walk on. 5'10 is short, but Todd Reesing from Kansas is the same height and he does well. I wouldn't mind having that name, maybe Bret Favre could help us in the recruiting game a bit too, I'm sure he would try to make at least one game to watch haha.
:geaux: Is LSU even recruiting this kid? I thought I read somewhere previously that he didn't have an offer. Has the situation changed? :LSU231:
No, LSU is not recruiting Dylan Favre. We (Tiger fans) are just kinda keeping our eye on him. :thumb:
