Only Official visits I have seen are DT Marsh, DT Ash, and Mike Davis but more info will be out this week. Expect most of the committed prospects to be there and most of the top 2011 LA prospects among others. Reed will be there as well and likely Lache as well.
Sure hope we get Mr. Reed, would be a shame to lose one of the highest rated Louisiana recruits to a SEC team for the second year in a row. Who was coaching when McNight went to USC Sabin or Miles??
What highest rated La recruit did we lose last year? McKnight went to USC under Miles' watch, but considering Joe silently committed to them as a Jr, I don't think LSU's head coach really would've made a difference.
The Defensive back from the Lake Charles area that is starting for Tenn. now. Wasn't he one of the top recruits in Louisiana last year?? Kinda lost him on NSD if I remember correctly.. May not be starting but I saw him playing against Florida on TV.
Yes, that was Janzen Jackson. He changed his committment the day after signing day last year. I wouldn't read too much into losing guys like him or Kenny Bell or Joe McKnight. We are keeping about 90% of the top talent in Louisiana, and with the way 2011 is starting off with Hill and Collins, that trend appears to be continuing. Geaux Tigers
I agree, LSU gets most all the Louisiana kids they want but losing some big ones as you listed just kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth... I want them all... haha... guess I can settle for 90%.
He came to LSU over the summer but LSU is not in the picture. Texas/OU battle. However, there is still time to get him here on a visit but even if he does we are still a long shot.
What was the deal with J. Jackson last year, was his father offered a job at Tenn. on Lane Kiffen's staff? That was not totally an independent choice by the young man, as I recall. Special circumstances. Maybe his dad was moving to Tenn. or Indiana, and it would be much closer for the kid to visit his father? It was also a dirty deal to LSU, given the kid knew he was going elsewhere, and kept it hidden from LSU until the last instant, so we could not sign another good player in his place. Another integrity example from Kiffen...
