I guess they base that on more time to do a more thorough film review? Not much has changed since they did their first assessment.
Just taking a stab at a possible (reasonable) Top 100 signing class based on limited reading: 2. Seastrunk (5*) 15. T. Reed (4*) 61. J. Allen (4*) 72. E. Reid (4*) 89. D. Cobbs (4*) Noone else jumps out at me (BHelm?) Compare that to last year: 2. Randle (5*) 7. Shep (5*) 20. Loston (5*) 25. Davenport (5*) 47. Faulk (4*) 59. Ford (4*) Obviously, it's VERY early! But I'm wondering if we'll see a lot of gnashing of teeth because the state appears at this time to be low on 5-stars. Also - the top QB is in the mid to high 50s (58 I think). And the Heaps kid from Washington isn't even on the list... I doubt seriously there's not a QB out there who deserves to be in the Top 20...
Those 5 are the best shots but I would add #39 Corey Nelson (4*). But there are plenty more on the list that LSU could make some progress with down the stretch but distance will be a factor for most of them.
What is the latest on T. J. Leitheit? I know LSU is recruiting him hard. Scout.com: T.J. Leifheit Profile :geaux:
He has a good relationship going with Yanowsky, Porter, and Stud. We went to see him practice this week and he wants to come see LSU in the near future.
Updated from Rivals 250. Simon has a 4th star but I think that change was made a few weeks ago. Wes Rea who I think will get offered after the 1st summer camp has 4 stars. Others who have not received offers from LSU yet but I think will fairly soon are: James Haynes, Jarrett Fobbs, O.C. Brown, Dontae Williams. Prospects of Interest: #116 RB Dontae Williams #124 Ronnie Vinson #129 OT Evan Washington-- 1st appearance in the 250 #134 WR Justin Hunter #143 WR Mike Davis #148 LB Justin Maclin #150 Tharold Simon #168 LB Travis Williams #171 RB Storm Johnson #175 QB Zach Lee #177 LB C.J. Mosley #195 LB Shaun Lewis #202 DT Evan Hailes #212 WR Solomon Patton #218 WR James Haynes #230 OG O.C. Brown #231 OG Wes Rea #238 QB Terrance Broadway #240 Munchie Legaux #248 ATH Jarrett Fobbs Watched the video and they had a piece on Storm saying he had great hands as well as running between the tackles. Also could move up into the Rivals 100 with a good senior year. Rivals.com Prospect Rankings
I am glad that we are recruiting the state of Alabama hard. Coach Ron Cooper made it to see Jawara White, who can play almost anywhere. BhelmLSU, do you know anything more about this recruit? Scout.com: Another set of Tigers visits White :geaux:
Don't know much about him because hasn't really gone in depth about his recruitment with track season keeping him busy. But he has visited AU 3 times already. No favorites named and a decent offer list. He could play multiple positions but LSU wants him at WLB.
