Of Course Vinson who is being recruited as a CB. Tommie Saunders has LSU and OU as his top 2. He could play either S or CB. All the others seem pretty interested but I would say Jarrick is a long shot.
Good to know.. I was jut noticing how large the DBs we've been targetting are.. unless i'm forgetting anyone.. Jai Eugene is the only real exception at CB. He's only an inch shy of 6'0. We're targetting prototype NFL defensive backs.. which I absolutely love. Patrick Peterson---6'1----205 Ron Brooks--------6'0----175 Derrick Bryant-----6'1----186 Jai Eugene--------5'11---191 Chris Hawkins-----6'1----184 Ryan St. Julien----6'1----176 Brandon Taylor----6'0----183 It looks like the trend continues with Vinson and Reid.. many of our DBs are pretty much 'tweeners'. We're looking for big physical DBs who could play both safety and cornerback at the next level. Big enough to play press coverage and hips to turn and run. I didn't feel the need to include safeties.. because everyone knows the story there.
#1 QB in the nation, Jake Heaps, surprisingly has LSU in his top 5 along with BYU, Cal, Washington, and Tenn.
I thought Philip Sims and Blake Bell was ranked higher than him but I never really watched film on him though either.
BhelmLSU, what is the latest on Chase Williams? He was schedule to go to the Baltimore Combine last weekend, but came down to see the LSU Spring Game. He is the son of the Saints D. C. for those who don't know about him. Also BhelmLSU why hasn't LSU gave him an offer yet? http://recruiting.scout.com/2/855692.html Thanks... :geaux:
Chase has been down to LSU twice so far this year and really liking what he sees. He is one of those guys who has the resources to see every school who have shown interest in him and he will use those resources. He talked with the staff yesterday once again and we now project him as a LB instead of DE. The staff told him they want him to come into camp to get evaluated at LB before extending an offer and he is confident LSU will do so. He is in no rush, so we have time to wait and see him without worrying too much about him committing elsewhere before then.
BhelmLSU, I know you know a lot more than me about recruiting. What I like is that he droped the Baltimore Combine to visit LSU this past weekend. What I have got out of it that his Dad like LSU a lot. I think that will go a long way in recruiting him. BhelmLSU could you please give us a % that he will commit to LSU or another school? Thanks... :geaux:
