Rivals reporting that one of the Desoto kids committed to Texas today, WR Darius Terrell. Tony Hurd left Texas without an offer. He is a guy LSU might go after and has ties to Trovon, Lache, and Wood.
I know that we won't have the talent in the state like this past year, but do we have some top prospects that are highly regarded to make our class as good as this past year? I don't follow recruiting as much as some of ya'll so I get my info from here.

This year seems to have more depth at the skill positions on offense and the defensive backfield compared to last year. I think we will have to get a few line prospects OOS. Overall next year is a little down from this year but better than the 2008 prospects.
I wanted to give a little recap of UT's Junior Day because it will have implications on our class. They received 5 commits that are confirmed and another 5 that are not confirmed or silent commits. One of the possible silents was MLB Benson that LSU offered. The other that committed was WR Terrell from Desoto. The good news is that the best prospect out of Desoto IMO, OL Evan Washington was not offered. Others not offered were WR Hurd, possibly the best WR in TX Mike Davis, WR DeAndrew White, and OLB Dominque Patterson. Look for LSU to go after these guys who did not get offers soon. Trovon Reed was offered but the good news is that UT got 2 WR commits already and another offered besides Reed. With Reed probably being a NSD commit, this could be good news that UT might be out of the mix by then if they get one or two more WR commits before then. Connor Wood was offered but OU looks to be in the lead.
I mentioned before that LA looks a little thin at OL and DL prospects this year and we would need to go OOS to land a few. I just heard the UT might only take 2 OL and 2 DL this year and they already have one commit at each of those positions. TX is loaded with prospects on the line that LSU should be able to sway to LSU.
