    This year, you are correct.

See, you want to believe how great your team is, well anyone with two eyes and a few brain cells and someone that isn't delusional can see the serious problems. That is why you balk at a ranking of your team at #21. Any observer that isn't a delusional fan can see the team for what it is.

Yes, you are correct, when you were putting personnel cutdowns directed at me in your signature.

    You should buy this shirt.

You are correct. A 9-3, possibly end up 10-3, just what most of us delusional fans thought this team would end up, even before the season. So, I would say they lived up what most of us were expecting. Now with the improvements that are being made at coaching, the players we keep and some of the new talent that will be in starting positions, a QB that has a full yr under his belt, I would say most of us are expecting to see some improvement. Should we improve over this past season, then a 15-25 ranking is a bit low.

I would say most neutral observers would disagree with you, I seriously doubt you will see LSU in the top 8 in anyone's poll, but like I said, what does that mean? All this means nothing, if they CAN fix everything, sure they COULD be #1, most neutral observers are not going to place their bets on it based on everything I have said at this point.

If I were to guess most of the major polls will be 8-15 if they win against Penn State and 13-25 if they lose against Penn State, but what is the big deal? It's just someone's opinion.

But everything you have said to this point leaves out the variable of our competition, which most intelligent neutral observers would take into consideration. If you just look at 1 piece of the puzzle you will never put together the puzzle. With all that changes going on with the rest of the teams we face, we have a much more stable situation. The 2 top teams in the conference are both losing tons of talent and coaching, their dominance will be hard to measure at this point. That being the case it is hard to say that they would necessarily beat us, which would be the main 2 teams that a neutral observer would use as losses to evaluate us.

Look at it from a neutral observation point.

LSU had a good record this year, the losses came to the better teams Alabama, Florida, and Ole Miss... but with that said they could have easily lost another 2-3. The only dominating performance really was the Auburn game. The offense was just plain horrible, the defense held teams to low points but couldn't get anyone off the field.

The bad offense is losing a huge chunk of it's experience and has an incapable OC. The defense is only losing really 3-4 key starters that I can see but most of them are up front. You have a whole bag of new coaches coming in and their will probably be growing pains.

Now tack on what apears to be a very hard schedule and I would say most neutral observers are not going to bet top 8 at this point.... that would mean you are only going to lose 2 games including the SEC championship game at most. Most neutral observers do not see a sub 2-loss team.

Strength of schedule is really only something that going to matter at the end, the SEC already gets a general higher ranking if you ask me based on being in the SEC.

I would say 21 is too low but it's not crazy and you know what it's not bad either. I don't care what their rank is, I don't even care if they lose some games... I just want them to get back to LSU football.

BTW there is nothing wrong with you disagreeing with their opinion, they are not right or wrong. You can think LSU is #1 and that is fine but I would say if you stepped back and looked you might have different view of what is going on and it might put you more in line with them.
