[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Know this doesn't mean anything (hell, i'm against preseason polls till the BCS rankings come out and the bowls aren't even played yet), but 21st? Thats kinda low... that is the most ridiculous list i have ever seen in my life except for the number 1 and number 3. my top 5 going into next season. 1. Alabama 2. Oregon 3. LSU 4. USC 5. Texas Texas is losing McCoy but their back up quarterback Garrett Gilbert is going to break passing records at Texas mark my words. Florida losing Tebow, Strong and Gonzales (coaches), Dunlap (early) , Haden (early) , Spikes, Pouncey's (early) , Major Wright, Hernandez (early). Florida is going to lose at least 4 games next season.
While the case can be made for this (coaching changes, certainty of some players leaving, etc.) this is still way too early for a poll for next year. Nobody's played their bowl games yet, some coaching changes will be made in the off season, some players that promise to stay will leave, and the biggest issue: LSU at number 21? Must be a bama fan that wrote this up:tigereye:
Never heard of this site before. Also wondering if they have NSFW content, as it was blocked by my company's web filter... :geauxtige
Why is that crazy? I would say LSU is a ranked 15-20 team right now to me. Anywhere between 15-25 seems about right to me especially since it appears Crowton will be allowed to kill your hopes next year. Add to it a vastly improved non-SEC schedule. You lose your 3 out of 4 top RBs, you lose 1 of your top 2 WR, plus 3rd and 4th WR options, your top OL is gone, your top TE is gone... all on an offense that was near last in the SEC and the nation. DL takes a pretty big hit... Alexander goine, Aheim gone, Woods gone. Having 1-2 losses before you even get to Florida seems somewhat likely if the offense plays like it did this year. Sept. 4 North Carolina Atlanta, Ga. Sept. 11 Vanderbilt Nashville, Tenn. Sept. 18 Mississippi State Baton Rouge Sept. 25 West Virginia Baton Rouge Oct. 2 Tennessee Baton Rouge Oct. 9 Florida Gainesville, Fla. Oct. 16 McNeese State Baton Rouge Oct. 23 Auburn Auburn, Ala. Nov. 6 Alabama Baton Rouge Nov. 13 Louisiana-Monroe Baton Rouge Nov. 20 Ole Miss Baton Rouge Nov. 27 Arkansas Little Rock, Ark.
i suppose what you're saying has merit, but jeezus! let's not be negative about the team next season while this one isn't even finished! what happens when (if) LSU beats PSU soundly, has a junior QB returning and finally starts coming together offensively? then, if they're ranked 21st, i'll eat crow but i don't think that is how it's going to go down.
Whether it is about right or not in someones' mind is sort of as irrelevant as the poll itself. At this point it is sort of ridiculous to speculate as to where teams will rank in the preseason. Also, preseason polls are pretty useless when you look at how they end up really shaking out by the end of the season. Most of the top 10 from this past season are nowhere to be found. Watch where we really end up after we spank PS, and our coaching staff and players start to come together in the spring.
Saw it on the SEC blog on ESPN...take it as you will. Probably never would have come across it otherwise.
Why is that negative? It's just someone's opinion anyway. LSU might not even finish in the top 25, who knows that is why they play the games. Unless they lose more players or they gain a new OC, 15-25 seems about right. imho That schedule is no joke, luck is going to run out quick if the offense does what it did this year.
