:geaux: Great grab for the Tigers! Welcome to Tigertown Evan. Can't have too many big horses on the line. Hopefully Storm will be encouraged to know that Evan will be one of the folks blocking for him the next 3 or 4 years and be the next official commit!:hihi: :LSU231:

Washington will be a future All-SEC tackle IMO. I'm surprised he didn't have more offers, because I'm very high on him.

Not much needed to be said.

One of the best O-lineman pickups by LSU in the past 10 years.

HUGE pickup. I saw this kid on TV in the State Championship game in basketball. He is a very good looking basketball player, very athletic, and also competed very hard. That's all I needed to see for me to get excited about him as a future offensive tackle. He had a little Big Baby in him on the court. :geaux:

Re: OT Evan Washington COMMITS TO LSU!!!!!!

This looks like a really good signing. I think he is underrated a bit as a prospect because of only playing high school football since last season. He has tremendous upside and is very athletic (he was the center on his high school basketball team.)

Rivals and Scout had him listed as the 17th and 25th best OT for 2010, respectively. Had he committed to Bama, he no doubt would have become one of the top 3 OTs on Rivals...

I don't get caught up in rankings. I could care less what number OT he is, all I care is that he pancakes opposing DLs when he steps on the field. I want opposing players from teams that continually "win" the top recruiting classes to be frustratingly asking themselves "Who ARE these guys?" when we wear them down in Death Valley.

I'm just glad to see us get a lineman. Hadn't seen a lot of them on offense or defense yet. It starts to round the class out.

    Evan Washington Pics

Saw this kid play once last year and was very impressed. He's a man-child with great feet. They had him pulling on trap plays and he showed good speed and agility for such a big kid. Also saw him play in the state championship game in basketball last season. This is a GREAT pick-up. Some nice pics of him in action here.

His physical build and footwork (and maybe the fact that he's from Texas, too) reminds me alot of Ciron.
