6'7 245 4.6 Here is my #1 LB on the board based on film. Schools are recruiting him at LB and DE but it looks like he is going to stress LB at the next level. He is an absolute beast and he has nice skills in reading the play instead of reacting. I would say schools will recruit him where he wants but if he gets any bigger a team would have no choice but to play him at DE. No one is breaking a tackle on this guy. LSU offered this week and they say there is a chance he goes out of the Michigan area. He is Vernon Gholston's cousin but they have only meet once. Thats funny for them to have the same last name and have only met once. Something strange about that.
He is extremely athletic for his size. However you don't see him making many form tackles, probably because of his height. Most of the film shows him grabbing the players and throwing them down like rag dolls. He looks like a fabulous rush the passer guy, but he certainly isn't a prototypical LB. I think if he wants to play LB, teams will promise him that he can. Then later if he is riding the pine they will convince him to move to DE to gain playing time and sell him on that position possibly being his ticket to the NFL.
he has an impressive frame as far as being a good tackler i dont know about that. he is average in that department just my opinion what i saw was alot of arm tackling not much form tackling and laying kids out...when i saw luc's film u see kids balling into the fetal position when they get hit bye him......this kid will not be staying at OLB he will put on at least another 30lbs....and i still think luc is far better..luc is faster, stronger, and his instincts are far better u cant coach instincts.....
I agree he needs to work on form tackling but that is something that coaching can correct easily. If he stays at LB, which is a big if, he will be a sure 1st round pick in the NFL draft one day. I thought his instincts were better than Luc's because Gholston would sniff out the play before the snap most of the time. Where in Luc's film I saw a bunch of standing around until after the snap and he used his speed to make the tackle. However, we only saw a handful of plays at the LB position in his films. Gholston in the film was plugging the holes like a Dlineman at the LB position. I would give the edge to Gholston on reads, strength, and rushing off the edge and Luc the advantage in speed and tackling. Therefore, he should be a DE. If he was rated at LB he would be rated much higher and the same if the scout networks had film of him at the DE position.
