3* out of Shaw HS was offered at the June Camp as an OT.

    6'4
    275
    5.42

Has 12 offers with the biggest ones from LSU, Miss St., FSU, Nebraska, and Texas Tech.

His cousin Ralph Norwood played for LSU in the late 80's and later dies in a car wreck during his 1st year in the NFL in 1991.

He has been saying that he would not commit on the spot if LSU offered in other updates but admitted an LSU offer would be really big. I am not sure what his feelings are on moving to the OL.

    Elliot Porter

Dandy Don said Elliot Porter from Shaw received an offer at camp. Can anyone verify this? How good is he?

Look up at the 1st post.

He was offered at camp as an OT.

I really have no clue how good he is at the position since I did not see any highlights of him from the camp. But the coaches were sold on him.

I searched his name before posting but the search function gave me an error message. I would think he would give us a "yes" soon just because he isn't a highly recruited kid. I think the best offers before ours were Fla/probation/State and Texas Tech. I guess he is flying under the radar and I hope he commits before Saban and the Tennessee vultures swoop in after him. The OT's we have recruited lately have been so big 6-6 to 6-7 that I almost see this guy as small in comparison. The 5.4 40-time isn't fast, but he must have some quickness to play defense. I trust Miles on OL more than any other position. If he wants him on the OL I am happy. I tend to be a bit more skeptical on other positions.

Oh, your post was moved. I thought you were going crazy for a second there.

I could see him pulling the trigger soon. He was talking Nebraska up pretty hard before the LSU offer. He always said he would not commit to LSU on the spot if offered to the Nebraska sites but we know how that works.

Only question remains is what are his real feelings about playing on offense? He says he is fine with it but we has decent offers elsewhere if he would rather be on the defensive side of the ball.

He moves well for a big man so he would probably fit OT or OG.

    Re: 2010 OT/DT Elliot Porter

Sounds like his love for the tigers will win out in the end. He wants to visit a few other schools this summer and try to make a decision before the start of his senior year.

Says FSU is in the lead after his visit this weekend. I am not surprised since they have been on him since the beginning and are most likely still offering him as a DT.

Will come down to if he rather play DT and if he is willing to leave home as NSD approaches.

    Re: 2010 OT/DT Elliot Porter

Contrasting articles based on who he is talking to (FSU and LSU). Says FSU was just Okay this time around which makes me wonder. Distance will probably win out.

But he said many great things about LSU and now sounds like LSU is the team to beat.

Will commit before the end of summer and coming in for the camp with his parents.

If we land him at OG, our OL recruiting is over.

I really hope we get Elliot, I think he has a lot of potential as an OG.
