Who said he had that many offers? Rivals? How do you know the kid didn't read those wrong and told Rivals he had those offers? It happens quite often, whether you believe it or not...
See post above. Also keep in mind there are many different types of offers such as verbal and written and conditional offers. We see this every year so it is nothing new. As of yesterday, Lindsay does not have a commitable offer from LSU and I have not heard anything has changed since then.
May not be over but we probably dropped the ball on this one should've never been a question if he had a commitable offer.
It was a question for the fans but not for Lindsay. He knew that LSU was not ready to accept his commit for a few days now. If he would of had a commitable offer he would have committed to LSU based on what his family has told me. They are not angry at the staff or anything for lying to them, etc... They are happy we were up front with him. Lindsay was set on making a commit this week so the staff let him know his status honestly. Nothing else we could do but try to convince him to hold off until after he was evaluated further.
:geaux: Not only did LSU drop the ball on this one, they just took a crap and sat down in it. We never should have lost this kid to 'Bama. He wanted to come to LSU and it seems we've let him slip through our fingers somehow. This one really bothers me. :LSU231:
LSU dropped nothing. Offensive guard is simply not a position of need so we'll be extremely selective. Yeah, the guy wanted to come to LSU.. and we didn't take him.. but so did a 5* running back from last year. We turned him down as well. It's a good thing people. We can be selective because we're one of the most talented teams in the country. If he gets evaluated at a camp by LSU and we offer him.. at the very least we'll give him something to think hard about.
Good points. Fans get caught up in the kids who want to go to LSU but in reality there are about 20 other prospects who have said they want LSU but LSU has not offered or recruited hard. Some of these guys are unranked like Lindsay and some are or will be rated higher by recruiting services. The staff knows who they have on the top of their board and they do not put asterisks next to the names of the ones who want to be at LSU. The go and push for the guys the staff needs and wants most and convinces them LSU is the place they need to be.
