Just heard from a buddy of mine that his announcement is now set for Monday but that could change as well. Comes down to if LSU will accept a commit or not but a decision will come once he finds out if he has a commitable offer or not.
If he really wants to come to LSU and didn't have a commitable offer why is he forcing our hand and making an official announcement so soon? What is the rush? Perhaps watching all the Texas players give verbals in his home state is skewing his recruiting timeline. Relax Chad, you have plenty of time if you are as good as they say.
Just one of the many kids who want to get it out of the way. Looks like it will be Bama based on the LSU staff not ready to take a commit from him. I have talked to his cousin and he told me that his heart is with LSU but he doesn't think we will come through with an offer. If we do down the road, he could open it back up according to his cousin.
I'd love to have him.. but not taking him him (for now?) is by no means depressing. Coach Miles knows linemen.. plain and simple.
Look, I won't claim to have inside information, but I just dont believe that Chad Lindsay does NOT have a commitable offer. Every major program in the nation has offered this kid, so why wouldn't we? I really want this kid....For several reasons, so i hope that this "doesn't have a committable offer" talk isn't just some of us LSU fans way of building in an excuse when he picks Bama. The thought of that makes me sick, but if he does, its because he chose them, not because we didn't want him. Lets just be postive and think that he will choose us because of our program and his ties to our school. Geaux Tigers, and I hope you become one Chad.
I agree. Word is he is not a very good pass blocker and he lacks quickness to get to the 2nd level. We took 6 OLman last year and we have guys like Williford already who will be projects. In a perfect world, Miles would love to have him in for evaluations at a LSU camp before he made a decision. Lets not scare off the top OLman Miles is targeting hard right now. We need one or two guys who can come in and compete for a job very early in their college careers.
Kids get offers all the time that are not commitable written offers. It is a way to show the prospect we have interest but the offer has strings attached such as "do not make a decision now and come to our camp so we can evaluate you first." You read these types of comments coming straight from the prospects mouths about the discussions they have with coaching staffs across the country all the time. If everyone we offered had a commitable offer we would be taking 3 times more than Ole Miss signed last year if they all decided they wanted to commit.
