Drew Brees will make the announcement for the Saints!

With the 32nd and final pick of the 1st round, the New Orleans Saints select...

Patrick Robinson, CB from Fla St.

Thought we'd go for LB or Defensive line.

Corner was the strongest position on the D. Also last years 1 rd pick was a CB. Real head scratcher with this pick.

The idea is to have this guy compete for the nickle spot and allow Malcolm Jenkins to slide over to FS. I just can't say I know a lot about this guy.

Let us not forget what happened last year when our cornerback depth was tested. You can't have enough good cornerbacks. This may also mean Sharper's gone, and they're preparing to move Jenkins to FS.

I trust our scouting department and coaching staff.

From what I've heard, he played early for FSU and was a lockdown CB from the get-go. His stats faded in his senior year, but its said that they had a lot of injuries up front and weren't getting much pressure, which always puts a strain on CB's.

He's a Tracy Porter clone. Solid pick by the Saints and one I didn't see coming. They still have a good shot at adding a quality defensive player with #64. Lots of good DTs, DEs and LBs left on the board. Carlos Dunlap and Everson Griffen are still there which really blows my mind.

    From SI.com

"Physically, Robinson grades out as an early pick in the draft, yet his mental skills are not on the same level. He offers an incredible amount of upside potential and could be a starter at the next level if the light ever goes on."

Let's hope the "light goes on."

Great idea if you didn't have glaring needs at DT and LB.
