He was pretty good in high school, but really hasn't done that well at Tulane. He was just a freshman though. Seems like they want him for his bat and his power. Is he on scholarship while he sits out a year? I hope not. Perhaps that is the allure for us.

Excited about the JUCO catcher and other signings from the past few days, but I'm not so sure about the guy from Tulane. Only batted in the low 200s. I hope he has a good glove, which doesnt seem like he does if he had to DH.

    Rumor mongering alert....repeat....Rumor mongering alert.

One of my customers has a son who plays third base and is being recruited by LSU according to his dad. Jacob Palmasano played for Fontainbleu High school (between Mandeville and Abita). I don't know much about the kid and how high he is on LSU's list, but his dad indicated to me that he would probably commit next week to ULL after he has an interview with Millsaps this week....where his dad played college ball.

BHelm, I just wanted to let you guys know what I heard at the cafe today about a local guy. Does anyone know anything about this Kid? I believe he was all district or something.

On another front...It sure looks like Mainieri is filling his roster up quickly so those recruits who are drafted, better decide soon. No more waiting till the day of enrollment to play LSU against the pros and try to bump up their offers.

I really do not follow high school baseball much or much of any recruiting either so I wouldn't be the one to ask. What year is he, senior this year?

How will our Pitching Staff will look for next year, since two of our Pitchers will be out, because of arm problems.

Will be young but I think if we keep Gausman/Eades/Lee, that is going to be a pretty sick class in two years...

All three are potential starters. Eades probably would be a top three round pick if he didn't get hurt. Alsup showed late progression too, plus Ott is back.

I think we'll come off slow but the Freshman will eventually get better as the season goes on. Lee wasn't a first round pick because he was unpolished with a big ceiling, he was polished with still room to grow. He should start, hes a very polished HS pitcher.
