Has like 16 offers from top BCS schools. If we haven't shown interest, why not? This beast had 135 tackles and 9 sacks last year!!!!!! As an aside, what top LBs are we trying to pull in for this class? We made a bit of improvement in LB recruiting this past season, but I'm hoping we can manage to get 1 or 2 of the great LBs from the 2010 class. Any really good 4 or 5 star LB's that it looks like we have a good chance to get?
Re: Have we shown interest in this guy? LB from TX Lewis claims an LSU offer and said LSU and Oklahoma are coming at him hard. The 2 services just haven't listed an offer from LSU yet.

Re: Have we shown interest in this guy? LB from TX This guy, Nelson and Maclin LSU probably has at the top of their board for OLB. LSU has a great shot at Nelson/Maclin. Nelson is teammates with our current commit, Davis and hes a monster. Maclin has had a relationship with Porter for many years, since his dad has known him. I think LSU leads for Maclin but USC is the team to watch on him right now. Lewis I believe, has been a Oklahoma lean from what I read? Not 100% sure on that though, still early. Right now, Nelson is a 5 star if the final rankings came out. Maclin is ranked like 115 on Rivals but I suspect he'll steadily move up the rankings IMO. I think the big concern on Maclin is his competition because his physical attributes are great. I personally would like to land any of those two, hopefully we can get two of the three. We got some beats in last class but we need depth badly at LB.
Cancelled trips to USC, Cal, and UF this summer. Will likely make the A&M camp and possibly the LSU camp but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't show up to ours because he said he has been here many times already and knows everything he needs to know. Possibly pushing up his decision from the UA game to early Fall. I still see LSU as the team to beat but OU and A&M are still in it.
Someone please explain to me why LSU would not offer a acceptable offer to a 4* linebacker like this guy? If Macklin is favoring Bama & USC is looking at Nelson wouldn't it make sense to at least make a good offer?? Everyone knows that Linebackers have been kinda weak for a while... would seem we would be offering everyone. Maybe he does have a good offer already... seems to me he would - secret offer????:huh: Just asking... I stay confused ....... I understand the seeing them in person thing but isn't that what the coaches do when they go to games scouting & stuff.. while we wait to make a acceptable offer (waiting to see them in camp) everyone else is making good offers... Isn't that kinda like shooting yourself in the foot... Would a recruit feel disrespected if everyone else is offering him but LSU wants him to prove himself in camp first??
He has a commitable offer, no doubt. We are waiting for him not the other way around. Maybe you read the old stuff on this thread and you got confused. Most of his recent updates were in the June Camp thread and class commit predictions threads. He came to the June Camp with CB Hurd and they really enjoyed themselves and stayed an extra 2 days (6 days total). And that was not the 1st time he has visited, Lewis has been on campus 3 times already. I give Lewis an 85% chance he commits to LSU. IF Hurd gets his offer in the July Camp, I would increase both of their chances to sign with LSU to over 90%.
