Have we ever had a starting JUCO offensive linemen? We all remember Wroten-DL and Byrd-WR, but I can't recall an OL off the top of my head. We could use a 6'7" guy to replace big Herm, even if it is just to stand next to Holiday so we can chuckle.

I love this move as he could potentially help us replace Ciron Black after this coming season. He'll already have a bit of experience under his belt. At the very least he'll be a quality backup after Black leaves.

Most tackles can play guard, too.

Versatility and size. Exactly what I said about why I thought we passed on the OG from Woodlands TX. I was looking at a few pictures of this guy and he looks like he is a legit 6'7" or very close, judging by how he towers over other lineman. He also looks like he weighs every bit of the 315lbs. He has long arms as you might expect. He isn't exactly muscular, but he should have enough natural strength at his size to more than compensate. Les likes the big boys it seems, or who ever is recruiting and evaluating OL for us.

Here are some other big offensive guys in the pipeline.
    Branch 6-7
    Hurst 6-6
    Parsons 6-6
    Williford 6-7
    Faulk 6-6

I didn't bother to list the short ones that were 6'5".
We also have a few on the DL that are tall like Hicks, 6'6", who was another JUCO. Seems like a trend.

Found out more of his history.

Originally committed to Auburn but they dropped him because of academics.

Then committed to Southern Miss but scholarship papers were never sent for him to sign on NSD.

Played at South Panola freshman and soph years then transferred to North Panola for Junior year and then back to South Panola his Senior year. Over the Fort Scott Junior College in Kansas. Family still lives in Batesville, MS.

    All over the place...

Now he will sign with LSU in December and practice with the team next Spring.

I saw a youtube video of him. I was surprised at how well he moves! He played left tackle and pancaked quite a few people. What was impressive was his ability to block a lineman and then slide off and continue blocking a linebacker. Hardrick pulled, yes from left tackle, and ran very well. He finished plays and seems to have a mean streak. He seemed to relish driving his man unto his back or well out of the action. I know he was playing against inferior competition, but from what I saw he looked fantastic. If he doesn't start at some point in the coming years, barring injury, academics, etc., I will be very surprised. Our OL will be huge and talented in the future and we will be able to play smash-mouth football with anyone.
