DT out of LaGrange HS in Lake Charles but just transfered from Washington Marion HS. Not ranked as of yet mostly because he only played in 4 games his Soph year because of a fractured ankle. He came away with the Defensive MVP award at the New Orleans Scout combine. Currently holds offers from Bama, OU, Oregon, and Tenn but Miss St., Auburn, and Texas A&M are coming at him as well. Tenn is #2 on his list. Says if LSU offers LSU would be #1 and #2 on his list. His family is full of LSU fans including his parents. He attended LSU Junior Day and says the staff wants to see more of him and Brick has already scheduled to go see him at his HS for practices or a scrimmage. 6'2 278
They still would have had his entire junior season to see what he could do. I don't quite get why his lack of playing time as a sophomore would be such a factor. However, good things have been reported about the kid and he sounds like he may be our next 4 star DT.
My mistake he only played 4 games his Junior year and almost positive he did not play any his Soph year.
That explains it. Well I think he is on ESPN's 150 watch list so he isn't a total sleeper. We are likely to get some good DL including Jordan Allen and Benay Pryor.
I was pulling for him to land in this class and I think we still have a shot at him if he turns his grades around. Just a case of we are not ready to take the risk but Tenn is. I wish he could have been more patient.
LaGrange High DL is UT’s second commitment of the 2010 Class. The Link: http://www.govolsxtra.com/news/2009/apr/17/defensive-tackle-broussard-comits-vols/ Article doesn't even mention LSU - was there any interest from LSU?
LSU has showed interest but he was told to come in for a camp so we can evaluate him in person. We also had plans for Brick to go see one of his spring games. HE was also told we need to get into his grades situation which are not good at all. Broussard was very very high on LSU and showed it in a video interview from the N.O. Scout Combine. Early indication is that he will listen when or if LSU comes calling with an offer.
