Still the same story with Allen, it would be shocking if he landed anywhere but LSU.

Said he is going to the LSU Spring game and he has already been to a ton of LSU games and 2 Junior Days.

His favorites in order are LSU, UGA, Nebraska, Texas, and Bama.

He will take his visits so do not expect a commitment anytime soon.

They won the National Championship this year in weight lifting.

Will be glad to get another WMH product they are always well coached.

It is VERY difficult for any school to take a kid from West Monroe that LSU really wants. It takes some special circumstances such as Luther Davis. I guess it helps that Coach Shows really encourages homestate pride even if he doesn't publically steer a kid towards LSU.

I would be shocked if LSU lost out on Allen.

“Of course I like LSU,” Allen responded when asked which teams he was seriously considering. “LSU is showing a lot of future talent especially with the recruiting class they pulled in last year. I like their willingness to get to another championship. One of my goals in college is to get a ring on my finger. I mean who wouldn’t want that?
“I also love LSU’s campus and the people down there are amazing,” Allen continued. “LSU fans are crazy! The coaches are all friendly, have good personalities, and a good sense of humor. They have shown what it takes and they know what it takes to recruit.”
While LSU sits atop of his list, Allen claimed to still be open to learning what other schools have to offer.

His recruitment reminds me of Mingo a little.

Except he is not holding back on his lovefest for LSU and I do not think he will wait until a week before NSD.

He just talked about everything he loved about LSU to a national analyst and it is no secret where he is going. He plans to commit during his senior season. My guess is before the playoffs.

Decision should come at the end of the summer.

Looks like it is down to LSU and Bama with LSU still holding a huge lead.

He will follow all other great WMHS players to LSU. No way Shows lets him go anywhere else. Especially bama!

TigerRag - RECRUITING: Allen Nearing a Decision

“I’ve decided I’m going to keep it within the SEC with the exception of Texas,” Allen confirmed. “I’m basically just considering the teams that have offered me. Texas hasn’t offered me yet because the coaches said they want to see me in person before they do. I think there is a camp coming up they wanted me to go to so I will have to check with my coaches to see about making that trip.

“Right now I have 15 offers,” Allen continued. “I’m happy with that. That’s more than most people have and it’s not really about how many you have anyway unless you’re looking at stats or something. My decision will be based off of who I have offers from. I think one of the reasons to why I have not received more offers is because a lot of schools probably think I am going to LSU, but they don’t realize just how serious I am in considering other places like Georgia, Ole Miss, and teams like that.”

“Coach Miles was talking to me about something a while back,” Allen said. “He said he had a situation like that last year with a receiver. He said because so many receivers had committed to LSU, this one receiver decided to go somewhere else because he felt he’d be able to start by doing so.

“Coach Miles said if that receiver would have stayed, he believed he would have had the talent to possibly start or at least be second string for LSU,” Allen continued. “Coach Miles said that’s why they recruit so many players like that. If they wouldn’t then the players would probably think they would automatically have a starting spot and then what kind of team would that be? So competition is not something I am afraid of.”
