TT you need to pay attention. It is apparent to certain posters that seem to have a complete grasp of their own reality, that LSU is now an afterthought. With 2 not competing for a MNC seasons there isn't a recruit in the world that would want to come to LSU. We have lost our grasp on the SECw and are now a 2nd tier team. Having a top 10 recruiting class, having 11 players being looked at by the NFL, and all the other great aspects of LSU no longer matter. We are headed back to the dark ages and unless we get rid of Les we will continue down that path. Come on think about it, the signs are all over the place. Wake up man and smell the coffee, LSU is lost.

Forget about the fact that we have a strong class already shaping up for 2011. Forget about all the positives that coming to LSU brings for these kids. Just listen to the gloom and doomers, and join the negatigers. I for one have decided to give up arguing the point. We will be what we will be. If Les and company get us back to where we should be, then that is what he is supposed to do. If Les and company continue to have the problems that have shown over the past 2 yrs, then it will be time to make a decision. For now though, the bottom line is RECRUITS that we want and want to be a Tiger will be. The rest can go play for whoever they want and be able to tell their stories of where they are. For them they can only hope that their story doesn't turn out like so many others that made the choice to not go to LSU. I wish them well, but who we get and who we are is all that is really important to me.

I'm not saying a top 10 trend is bad. I don't think you guys are getting what I'm saying...

Alabama, Florida and USC constantly maintain top 5 classes with loaded rosters already. The difference is they're landing impact players or at least players that have a higher probability of doing so. When you get dominant players like Collins...they can come into any major program and start if they have the mental aspect of the game. Which is almost the only thing that will slow a prospect like that down as a Freshman.

I like this class...but I can't say we have any one, true impact player right now. Not even Ware, who I like. While you go over and look at the absolutely ridiculous class Florida has in the trenches...and past years. IMO, Florida/Alabama have recruited way better than LSU the past few years and its showing on the field. It just so happens, those two teams are permanent opponents of LSU.

I also don't feel LSU has addressed dire needs in this class either. If we don't land another DT or QB(which we probably won't), we could be in some serious depth issues next year. The last word was Blackmon might not qualify and hes our only DT in this class. So, LSU will have to pull more players from other positions to fill the need. QB...well, we could potentially have JJ and CG on roster as ship QBs. That isn't exactly what I'd call depth. I sure hope LSU knows something we don't in either JL/ZL staying.

We got some DL talent next year. Awesome. You don't recruit for next year with your need...you recruit now when its presented as a need. Call me crazy but I'm not exactly comfortable with verbal commits for next year when NSD is almost a year away. Anything can happen until then...also another reason to recruit for needs now, even if you think you have them filled with verbals next year.

If you compare the classes of LSU, Alabama and Florida from 2005 to 2010 you will find them quite comparable. No team in the NCAA is blowing the doors off LSU in recruiting. Is this class loaded with what you call impact players, no. Is Florida putting together a top notch class, you bet. However that's just one recruiting class. Group the last 4 or 5 together and there isn't a whole lot of difference. Like I said, if a bad year is still top 10 there is absolutely nothing to complain about. Everyone that has anything to do with recruiting predicts an even better class for LSU next year. Recruiting is waaaaaay down the list of things Tiger fans need to worry about. If LSU doesn't compete for championships the next few years recruiting wont be to blame.

So then if we beat Florida or Alabama it would mean that the difference was better coaching and not better athletes, right? If you're saying those schools out-recruited us, then you are saying they have better athletes. If we beat either team, it means that we had better coaching on that day, right?

If that happens, I doubt the whiners on this board will shut up but they will continue to make every thread a Saban secret lust fest where they cling to the delusion that if we dump Miles then Saban will come running back to LSU.

People put more force into someone's mother's friend's neice's neighbor running into Mrs. Saban at a post office in Alabama and she said she missed Baton Rouge more than the fact that LSU is on the verge of closing another top 10 recruiting class, won 9 games last year in the SEC, and has proven to have a very solid "undergraduate program" for the NFL.

Volnation saying he signed with LSU, I don't know if that is true.

Update, looking like it's verified somewhat, looks like a Tiger.
