Currently out Pearl River JC where the LSU staff placed him last year but originally from Belaire High in Baton Rouge.

Word is he may commit again soon and I am not sure if he will count in this class or not. He will have 3 years of eligibility left when he arrives since he has already redshirted.

I think you may be misspelling his name. Rivals has him as Pryer, not Pryor. There is already a thread on him under Pryer when I searched. If we get this guy and we probably will, and he can keep his grades up, our DL just keeps getting better and better. People seem to think he is worth the gamble because he is talented. The JC players, Hicks and probably Pryer, will stand a better chance of playing quickly and filling any voids created by graduation. We may be able to redshirt a few more DL's because of these moves.

He left football his senior year to focus on academics and LSU STILL offered him.

    Super athlete, very high ceiling.

Wonder why he just didn't go to a Prep School then, so he's not even playing at Pearl River?

I always assumed they were on a scholly when they went to places like Hargrove. You hear the terminology, "signed and placed" with out questioning it. If they are good enough for LSU to want them out of high school if it weren't for grades you would think they would warrant a scholly from a prep school most of the time. But I don't know much about it. Perhaps someone has more insight or can elaborate how easy it is to get a free ride at a prep school. I wouldn't think a Division I school could pay the tuition for an athlete to go to prep school, but I am not certain. Anyone know the facts?

He's been at Pearl river for 2 years; he needed more than one year to get his grades in order.

They just happened to redshirt him as a freshman.
