Hurd said yesterday that he and Shaun Lewis are becoming really close and they are looking into going to the same school for college. These things work out sometimes but not usually. However, I could see both end up at LSU.
That would be awesome. I think Lewis would be a must take for us.. but we'd have to be careful as I think Maclin is more of a priority (due to ceiling). ESPN is VERY high on Lewis and compares him to Jelani Jenkins. I'd be pumped about a linebacker class with Maclin, Lewis, and Welter.. and a MLB.
Coaches told him to be patient for a little while longer and they want him to come to the July camp. They said he was the next in line at CB to get an offer but they do not want to offer anymore CBs until they evaluate the rest of the CBs at the July camp. Hurd does not seem fazed in the least and is planning on staying in Baton Rouge even longer until Thursday or Friday with Shaun Lewis. Hurd says he wants that offer so he will be at camp to get one. Still all LSU if we offer.
The kid loves LSU and wants to be here, I've actually prayed that he gets a offer in the last week, I think will continue to do that.
I'm definitely pulling for him because I really think he's a good guy, on top of the fact that he's pretty damn good.
Hard not to root for the guy. You just know he's gonna give the team everything he has. Hope the offer swings his way - and he brings Shaun with him!
So why havent they offered him is still my question. i mean he seems like a great kid. I know his height is probably the main factor.
Boy, I agree, I am rooting for this guy to make it , too. Maybe he'll have to change his name to Rudy.
We know he will wait until we are ready and we want to evaluate the rest of the CBs on our board at the July Camp.
