I hear he can lock it down with the best of them and Trovon has raved about his skills against him during a camp a few months ago. Guess we will see if the staff feels the same. Plus he would help with many of the Texas guys and Trovon.
Ronnie Vinson is one and Jarrett Fobbs is thought to be a DB. guessing this is how the coaches are looking at it... take Hurd and Fobbs and Vinson. Fobbs can be a safety net slot WR or a DB if Hurd/someone else doesn't pan out or if we miss on a speed back and Calhoun stays at RB.
4* Dior Mathis -- Detroit, MI 4* Ronnie Vinson -- New Orleans, LA 3* Tony Hurd -- Missouri City, TX 3* Jarrett Fobbs -- Shreveport, LA 3* Tyler Stephenson -- Lancaster, TX Travis Bell -- Belle Glade, FL Khalid Mashall -- Miami, FL Here are the ones with offers so far that have not committed elsewhere. I think Fobbs will get a shot at offense 1st if he comes to LSU because that will likely be our selling point since he wants to play WR. Vinson to LSU and probably Hurd. Stephenson is the next best bet because of our track program.
Height probably won't be that big an issue. Ron Cooper had a bunch of 5'8 or 5'9 corners that he turned into nfl draft picks at south carolina. I think it was more that he wanted to see in person what the guy was capable of. Hurd can play, so those questions probably got answered or will get answered.
A 5'9" guy playing SEC (or NFL) corner is one impressive athlete. He's giving up 6" of height (or more) to most wideouts! Can't wait to see him play.
Read my post above. Verbally offered a few weeks ago. Rivals is behinf on their report. He is coming to the June camp to try to earn an official offer and I think he will.
