What I'm getting is that Miami probably won't offer him and that he wants to go to UF, but they're not looking interested either. I think he might be looking hard at West Virginia at the moment and Michigan wants him too.
This is a kid that will move up in the rankings if he has a great senior year. My understanding is that he did not play much RB because they had to excellent RBs in front of him on the depth chart the last 2 years but they have moved on and the job is his this year. Most of the interest from the big schools have come from scouts attending his practices looking at seniors last year. He has their attention and now he has to live up to the expectations.
?? It's a fast moving game played by hormonal teenagers and coached by millionaires. No telling what happens - it's all just a fun exercise in educated guessing. Well. Mostly educated.
He is small, but he is a football player at one of the best high schools in the country. With that kind of speed, we can find something for him to do. He isnt rated on scout or is he?
Here is a little negativity to start the day. He doesn't have an offer from us. He has been hurt or used in spot duty his entire high school career so there he doesn't have a 1000 yard season, etc.. I think he has a 300 yd. season statistically. He is fast, but doesn't explode through the hole or play fast when he is in traffic. Even on his returns he is tentative until the traffic has cleared. That being said I believe his vision and instincts as a runner are superior to Calhoun. His vertical jump is strangely only 31 inches, and his 40 at a camp was 4.5, although his shuttle time was impressive. His offer sheet is fair with no powerhouses offering. There is little question that Shephard is a better runner if we want to put him in the Trindon role. I think we need to slow play this guy an hope he has a break out season. It never fails that the small speed backs always seem to garner more attention on the forums than the power backs. I guess people are intrigued by the 40 times and the long highlight runs, but only a small percentage excel in the SEC. O.K. let me get a second cup of coffee and maybe I'll be in a better mood.
