Flopping is nothing new in the NBA. Been that way forever... Stephenson wasn't grabbed at all from my view and if he was touched a little bit he went for the sell dramatically. I watched a lot of the Mavs this year and yes they flop just like the rest of them. They are actually one of my favorite teams to watch. Heat are just going to get called out for it more because of the negative pub. I don't fall for that BS. Sure the Heat are flopping and they should since everyone is doing it.

Just saw another Mavs flop on the play Wade hurt his back. Gotta sell it. Damn and another right after I posted this by the same player, Brian Cardinal. 3rd edit, and another 2 plays later and yet again Stevenson.
Heard the sports radio guy this morning say that if you give Lebron a dollar, he'll only give you back 75 cents because he never gives you the 4th quarter. One of the afternoon radio guys yesterday was saying there are reports (mostly from non-credible sites) that Rashard Lewis recently hooked up with Lebron's baby mama (his girlfriend since high school) while the Heat were on the road during the playoffs. No idea if any truth to it and still don't really know what to think of the Lebron mom/Delonte West and Pau Gasol fiancee rumors. Like they were saying yesterday, it's not really a story unless ESPN decides it is. I've been slightly pulling for the Mavs to this point but hoping the Heat can win game 6 so it goes the distance.
Regarding the art of flopping, it's a fine line. Even though Cardinal is big enough to not fall to the ground on the play that Wade hurt his back, it's not considered a flop because that's how you take a charge. The sort of flopping that bothers me is when a big man is posting up, puts his arms up to call for the ball, and his defender exaggerates his flop backwards like he just got elbowed in the nose (when there was little or no actual contact).
That wasn't a flop. Cardinal got smoked, and it should have been called a charge. And I know you aren't talking about the Juwon Howard foul that should have been a flagrant 1 on Stevenson.
and the Dirk one wasn't a flop, you ever get pushed while you are shooting the basketball, a 250 lb 7 footer's momentum from getting pushed is going to take him to the ground. The Kidd one was a flop.
You are grasping those are all flops. Like said above that is how you try to take a charge. Screaming because you were hit "so hard" and flying your arms backwards uncontrollably. Then flies to his ass 2 plays later when Lebron threw his arm out and rolled out of bounds. Come on...:dis: ****, he starting falling backwards before contact was even made. If you don't stand your ground the refs should always call a foul on the defense. Can't be moving if you want that charge. Got to sell it. Refs will tell you this much. Dirk doing much of the same and the announcers giving him a 9 and 10 for acting. He is more coordinated than that even if he is a lanky white dude. There are hundreads of examples over the last few years with the mavs. We just happened to witness a bunch of them last night. Stephenson even got called out last night after his acting. Flops have always been that way and they aren't going anywhere. Every team and every player will take part. Don't fall for the BS. Also the predictable refs of the NBA actually listened to the media and decided that tonight we aren't letting those flops control the game. Which I am glad they did and I hope they keep it up.
I think the funniest thing is that Lebron and Wade were caught making fun of Dirk being sick. And then Dirk goes out and beats them 2 games in a row.
