Bhelm, thanks for the update. I like this team better than last years. I think we'll be better on both lines, and more experienced at QB. Our biggest loss from last year may be Brandon LaFell, from the toughness and experience standpoint. Our new receivers have speed, hands, and moves, not sure about toughness. I'm just optimistic this year going in. This team should be hungry, no repect, picked 4th in the SEC West. Lot of youth, but I think somebody will step up, like at defensive end where we need help. Another year in Chavis' system should help the D, some new coaches on offense, opportunity to slip, or opportunity to improve. I like improvement this year. :geaux:
Not just you. As long as we play too much gap control and containment with the lighter D-Line, we can be strong on D this year.
Word going around that Matheiu may have entered the 2 deep at CB behind PP. If that is correct, I would assume that means Brooks moved to the other side behind Mo instead of St. Julien behind Mo.
That's really quick and says good things about our recruiting. Last Year Claiborne was seen in a couple of games, and is starting this year. If Matheiu stayin in the two deep either playin nickle or dime, then he could possibly be starting by next year assuming, as most people currently are, that PP enters the draft. If that were to happen, Mathieu would get a year of experience well Claiborne starts, then we move Mathieu up to starting next year. bam two young CBS starting next year. Good to get young players on the field.
Judging by these depth charts, it looks like we'll be losing only 5-6 starters overall after this year(The difference between 5 and 6 being Peterson leaving for the draft). If all goes well, we'll gain some solid experience this year and have a very strong lineup for next year as well. If Peterson decides to stay, then lookout. Not that I'm giving up on this season, just making an optimistic point.:miles:
Miles confirmed today that Stampley would be the starting FB if the season started today. Dugas is right behind him.
